Anybody know the difference in
Taifun GT, Stainless Steel(B)
Taifun GT, Stainless Steel(A)
at fasttech?
On "b" the stem and cap are 1 piece and the machining is a little better.
Chamber fits loose on "b" till o-ring is replaced.
Both are pretty good.

What's.....amusing is that I've had no problems with the A or B versions, but the one (out of maybe 4) that I got from angelcigs that has the narrower wick slits continues to give me a little grief.

I have to be sure to cut the wick ends thinner to ensure good, steady wicking. Otherwise, it gets slightly choked and can't keep up with the long-drag chain vaping that I do.

I have "A" and the stem and cap are one piece. Are you calling the top the cap? as in the piece that the drip tip fits in? Sorry not up with the names of all of these parts..

I have six of the type (A) and am very pleased with them. 1st one was delivered with chromed brass deck but that was quickly replaced with S/S and 6th came with the chamber top cap threading chamfered away. Replaced at 2nd attempt but at least I gained a spare base unit out of it !
Am impressed with machining quality and although all six have two-piece chimney/top caps they are all well 'friction-welded/expanded' and don't come loose.
The machining quality on type (B) is supposed to be higher quality, see comments above.

Just a comparison between fasttech nano, vaporfreak medium kit and fasttech clear tank.
The picture is in some way deceiving but you will notice my mistake :)

Welp, figured out my chamber spinning issue, and it is now fixed lol.

The damn "stem" that's connected to the top cap was angled ever so slightly off-centered. I was able to tell by rolling the tank across my counter while looking in at the stem, and while it was rolling...it went around in a tiny circle rather than stay straight.

I stuck a screwdriver down the stem and tweaked it straight (barely had to do anything to be honest lol), and now the problem is fixed.

I have no idea how that could have happened :\. I never take my top cap off of the tank section unless I'm switching from my half-n-half to my SS or vice-versa. Its never been dropped or anything either. Oh well, its fixed now lol. I'm in vaping heaven once more.

So how about your MISTer, mine has about the best flavor of any atty that I've run across, right now it has a micro with rayon. Ugly thing but it sure works good.

Phenomenal hybrid. My favorite hybrid I've ever used. Rugged as hell. You couldn't break it if you tried. Performs beautifully. Reliable. I can't say enough good about a MISTer. I rather love the switch as well.

I have one from angelcigs and it's my first taifun and I thought when I watched a YouTube video the guys slits looked larger then mine but figured it was just because everything looks larger on video then it really is... now that you said it though I guess they really are... I am getting some dry hits with chain vaping any suggestions?

Cutting the tails thinner (more narrow, maybe?) worked pretty good for me.

But I got a wild hair yesterday and took the dremmel to it. I figured if I buggered it up, I'd just buy a replacement eventually.

BUT! It worked out pretty great! I should have taken some before-and-after photos. The originally-narrow slits are now a bit wider than the "regular" slits. But no flooding and no more dry hits even when chain vaping. I did it free-hand, and used a fairly low speed with a tapered (sorta....cone-shaped) bit. The metal is quite thin and soft so start slow and be careful.

I had to round out the top of the chamber because I had little pointy bits after dremmeling, but (surprisingly for me) the threads were unharmed and it's working exactly like it should. :vapor:

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out. I would think that even if you over drilled and made the slits TOO wide, you might be able to compensate by using more cotton at those openings. But ehhh....measure twice, cut once, and all that jazz. ;)

This is actually one of the reasons I dig the Taifun GT so much. It's such a simple design that even when there's (what I consider to be) a manufacturing defect in a clone, it's fairly easy to remedy. That said, this is the most work I've ever had to do on any of my GT clones, so YMMV.

Thanks Zipflint I have a brand new Dremel kit I haven't even opened yet I think I will widen them just slightly

Ok I used a cone shaped Dremel that was small enough that I could put the tip of the Dramel bit in the slot first and I just made it a tad wider not much and rewicked with rayon and I can chain vape the heck out of it without any dry hits! working perfect!!! One thing that still really annoys me is how loose the base sits with that o ring and I don't even know if it twisted up or not... seems like it can still work even if it does twist.

I actually stopped using rayon in my kayfun/Russians didnt like it but it works REALLY well in the taifun Gt because of the wicking design where it's always in contact with the juice

Right on! I've got a few with the loosey-goosey chimney base too. It's really never caused me any problems. I can sorta just....feel where it should be, and then I pull it up a tiny bit. Like less than .5mm and then it gets pushed into place when I screw it all back together.

It probably DOES twist a bit during reassembly, but so far that hasn't caused me any problems. After trying numerous Kayfun/Russian clones, a few Squape v1 clones, etc. the Taifun GT clones remain my favorite.

So far I gotta agree I like it more I feel this wicking design is superior to Kayfun.... at least seems that way to me so far seems more forgiving with the thickness and how much you use etc... if I don't get it just right on my Kayfun / Russians I will get dry hits after a couple pulls
