Oops, typo...

I love it, but I think I'm going to go for larger diameter coil. I used M3 screw and going to use M4
I went with 2.5mm diameter from the get go. It's the absolute perfect size when it comes to JUST fitting between the posts. I honestly don't see how anything larger could fit...I guess 2.6mm if one had a jig that size, but the tolerances would be oh so tight.

Well, nuts. Got my TGT II clone today and it's leaking like a sieve. Just out of the air holes. I was treating it exactly like my good old original TGT clones and it certainly LOOKS like I should be able to get away with that.

But maybe I'm missing something. I can't see or feel where any missing o-rings might be. My first thought was that I'd wick'd it poorly but I've tried less AND more and get the same results. When I wick it "right" I get about 5 good drags before it starts to gurgle mightily, and seconds later it's leaking out of all of the air holes.

Kind of at a loss here. I can't even think of any images that I could post to further illustrate the problem. It's probably something very simple that I'm overlooking; not tightening down something somewhere....but I can't figure it out. Oh yeah, the 510 pin. Is it supposed to be adjustable? I HAVE been backing it out just a couple turns to get it to make connection with different mods....could that be the culprit?

I wasn't very satisfied with my previous (first) build on my GT II. Not that it didn't work, but it just didn't produce enough Vapor/Flavor like my Ni200 Rose V2, kayfun V4, Fogger and Squape R. But I felt it could do better, so I tried, and I tried, and I tried all kinds of Ni200 builds. Until I did this:
26 AWG Ni200 3.5mm ID Micro Coil (spaced coil wouldn't fit) at 0.14Ω and Trimmed Rayon wick.

I'm a happy camper now. It is set for 450F and 40W and produces a lot of worm, dense , flavorful vapor. It throws a large air bubble every single puff I take.

I have purchased the first two listed, 2050300 and 2047800, I replaced all o-rings except the ones on the tank ends. The o-ring (20 x 1 mm) on the top end of tank doesn't go on the tank top just under the knurling like on the TGT1, it goes against the end of the tank and the tank top is tightened against it. I'm guessing this my be your problem.
It does NOT go on like the one in this picture:

It goes here where the red arrow indicates but they didn't make much of a groove for it on the clone so just place it on the end of the tank and screw it together.

I didn't replace these o-ring because I didn't have them at the time but the ones it came with for the tank ends worked OK.

Big thanks! I'm too fed up with life at the moment (it has NOT been a good day all 'round) so I'll give this a shot tomorrow if things are going better. I got a feeling your notion is right on the money.

Of the two TGTII clones I gave one to a friend and the one I kept I Dremeled out the wick slots to 3.2 mm and Dremeled out a couple of intake holes, it is now a fairly decent cloud maker but still a bit tight on the air. I'm going to slot the air intake hole area using a couple of stacked cutoff wheels (Dremel) and see how that works out.
Might do it tonight if I can get myself moving here.

Good coffee, did both sides, this is something that I might feel a bit reluctant to do on an original.

While not as airy as I thought, must have the bottle neck inside now, it is much better with the slots than without. It does well.
3 mm id 28 gauge nichrome, 1.1Ω, CC, @ 30 watts, high VG (40/60)

I don't know if it is going to help you but my second Taifun GT II (By different, unknown manufacturer) was leaking too. I replaced one of the O-Rings that supposed to seal the glass from both sides. I removed a skinny O-Ring and replaced it with a little bit fatter one (from the bag of goodies supplied) and that solved my leaking problem.

Answering my own post:

It was working flawlessly for three full days. But on the fourth day, two wraps in the middle of the coil shorted and fused together and I started noticing the "Hot Leg" aftertaste. I knew that Nickel doesn't like Micro Coils, but I was very limited in space. I made a new semi-spaced coil of the same 26 Gauge Ni200. So far - so good.
