I decided to treat myself this Christmas to a new rba in the form of a Taifun GT by hcigar purchased through Vapor Bank's website. I've built and re-built this thing many times and it has read "shorted" from the first build to the last. I've done some reading where others have reported the shorting problem but the positive pin is tight and all gaskets are in place with this tank, I can not see anywhere there is metal to metal that would cause a short. I opened a ticket with the seller, including pictures and received an email they would contact me within 24 to 48 hrs., that was 12/29/15; still no word.
As I don't have the tools for any major rebuild here, anyone have any ideas for a possible simple fix I may be overlooking? A link to a youtube video dealing with the same issue, even if it's not the Taifun GT, would be awesome!
If the merchant doesn't honor his warranty, which I'm beginning to suspect is the case; and I can't fix this, I have another weight for the fishing box!

That 510 post is solid, not a wiggle, but thanks for your input! I'll post on the Taifun Discussion board.
My taifun's positive screw at the 510 connection at some point basically sat flush with negative thread on the outside when tightened properly.
By unscrewing the positive screw, adding a small o-ring around it and tightening again , it was basically sticking out a millimeter again. Some, not all, mods don't link flush or recessed positive pins/screws and will short.

I'll have to keep that in mind if I have problems with future tanks as I plan on buying more of either the Taifun GS or GT while this vendor is selling them for $7.99 ea. I know most people want the glass tanks but I can't use them as a neuro problem causes me to be fumble fingers! I can vouch that the Taifun tanks & the Cloupor Mini can take a serious beating & keep going!!!

You could opt fort the acrylic tank replacement for the GT. (Fits v1 & 2)
Things are nearly as though as metal. Drop mine at least 2 dozen times by now and still as good as new. Almost starting to wonder why I bought the backup ;)
$1.76 Replacement Acrylic Tank for Taifun GT-T V2 RTA - translucent at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Less heavy and looks better IMHO.

Hmmm.....................Have you really checked it out?
The FIRST thing I do with Any TRA I receive is Field strip it - All Parts separated. Clean Everything to be sure of no surprise taste.
Inspect each and every piece as I reassemble, for fit and finish.

If it reads short, it is shorting - Have a look.

Fourth times a Charm! :rickroll:Found it!
I've had that 510 screw out 4 X's! Last go I increased the magnification as much as possible & finally saw the tiniest nick on the threads deep at the bottom of the screw hole. I took a straight pin and flipped all around the hole then gave it a couple good thunks on the desk. Put it all back together and coiled her up. She Fires!

Thanks for all the tips from everyone!
