Kayfun, Taifun GT Flavor Problem

I have a kayfun, Taifun GT and a Fogger that I use regularly and two main go to flavors: Dark Chocolate and a Custard (golden color) flavor. I have been using these all for months and the same flavors in my older tanks (Aerotanks and nautilus) and can't get any decent flavor out of the Dark Chocolate in the RBA's at all. I use organic cotton for wicking in them. The custard is fine and the flavor is great. But, my favorite - the dark chocolate- is tasting dull and kind of burnt no matter what I do. I've changed coil configurations. Is it because it's a dark liquid, or do I just need to find a different wicking material? Any/all help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dana

What builds are you running, and on what mod?

I run these atomizers mostly on mechs and my personal preference is to run larger coils, in my case 2.2mm. In my personal experience wicking a little thicker seems to produce better flavor. In other words, a little to much is better than not enough.

My typical builds for the Taifun and Kayfun use 26ga wire at 2.2mm for .8-.9Ω, about 8-9 wraps. Again, that's for a mech.

I won't speak to the Fogger, because the flavor is muted in it no matter how it's built, and mine is collecting dust because of it.

I use mechs as well. And coils about 2mm (28 awg) as well. Usually about 1 - 1.3 ohms. I definitely think it's the wicking, too. I will go a bit thicker with the Taifun and see how it goes. My fogger is collecting dust, too. The kayfun seems to be best with flavor, but my chocolate kills all. I ordered some rayon to check it out, too.

I will report back and see if the thicker cotton works first, though.

Thanks again, Dana
