So I bought a Taifun GT yesterday. What works as a wick, other than Stainless Steel Mesh, with 1 strand of 3 mm Silica wick, or 3 pieces of 2 mm Silica wick? Just trying to get ideas.
i run plain old 2mm X3 in one of mine, cut long enough to reach the tank bottom and the ends sticking out are fluffed up before i fill the first time. works fine.

The way I saw Todd do it is a little different. I might use the Navy Lifeguard Method, and allow a few strands, like a couple from the bottom most wick, to touch bottom.
I've done SS, SS with a silica center, regular silica 3x2mm, micro coil and cotton. I have now settled on 2x3mm loose german silica. flavor is excellent as is wicking.

I wrap my coil normaly with silica. I use a good size pin in between the two 3mm strands and wrap away, usually a 4/3 wrap. I find the trick with the german silica is to wrap it snug, not tight, it will choke the wick if its too tight but, you don't want it loose either it's a fine line...
