Taifun GT wicking question

Hey,
I'm currently running a Taifun GT on a nemesis clone. I'm using a 28g twisted single coil with organic cotton wick. The issue I'm having is this: The coil gets gunked up with residue pretty quickly, about every other tank, and I have to dry burn, which with the cotton means a rewick. This isn't a huge deal as I have gotten pretty quick at doing it. What I was wondering is if there is another wick setup that will allow me to dry burn with the wick still in place, meaning I would have to break it down less often? I know some people like stainless mesh with the taifun, and i have heard that some like the stainless mesh with a piece of silica on top. Would this setup allow me to dry burn with the wick in place?

I have a GT too running a similar set up but find I get about a week out of wicks, not every other tank. Are you adding any sweetener to your juice? What air tube are you running in it?

You might try readyxwick from rbasupplies.com; it is a ceramic rope wick which can be dry burnt and can out last the Kanthal.

I don't add sweetener to the juice. I took the air tube out to maximize the draw.

I think I will try the readyxwick. Any tips for setup? Should I get the 2 or 3 mm?

Never played with readyxwick. Do you have to remove from the coil to torch it clean? Or can you dry burn inside the actual coil?

Do you wrap the coil around the wick or can you wrap a micro coil and feed the wick through like cotton?
