Hi im Dustin. i have been reading the forms thoroughly for about a week now. i am in the delayed entry program going active army. im 29, been smoking between 7 cigs a day and a pack plus since i was 15, not proud of that, just a fact. i wanted a lot of supplies and have read a chinese supplier is good for that to compensate for shipping. got a DSE801 kit 2 bats, 1charger, 1atty(i now know should have sprung for a second) 10 extra carts and 30ml of 18mg juice (i can cut it down myself if needed) im not concerned with looks, but price and quality has been rated pretty decent for beginners from a number of users here so i went for it. i have to stop smoking, it is negatively affecting my running, any armed forces members on or veterans on know that this is a MAJOR part of BCT. As for questions, i was wondering what, if any, noticeable difference is in breathing, how long to see effects, and will my atty probably last a while if i keep regular maintenance on it. aside from that this is a great forum, thank all of you for the insights and articles here, it has been the deciding factor in my decisions.

Regards,
Dustin D

Boy, hard to answer this one. Since I was a heavy smoker for over 30 yes, I really do not know what improvements or how quickly you will see them. Me, I noticed big changes in my sinuses almost immediately upon giving-up the analogs. I am breathing much better now and I don't snore as much (or so I am told. I never really believed I snored to begin with, but that's a whole different story).

Good luck on your journey !!

Seven cigs a day? Perhaps you need to tap into the miitary health insurance and go with an approved nicotine repacement therapy.
Depends on why a person smokes in the first place.

I smoked about 5 cigarettes on average per day.
And I wanted them, and I intended to continue to smoke them until I died.

And that has nothing to do with how many it was I smoked.
I liked smoking, whether it be 5 per day or 30 per day.

I like this better.
And it is better for me.

I'm considerably older than you, and smoked more analogs (1.5 -2 pack a day habit for 30 years). But, I'm also a 4.0 tennis player, and play 4-5 times a week, adding tournaments in the Summer.

I always justified my smoking because I was in better shape than most others. But inside, I always knew I had to cut points short, and save energy, because analogs and their tar, carcinegins, and who know's what else crap they load 'em up with, definitely affected my endurance.

I've been analog free for about 3 weeks now (even though my quit counter says 2 :)

I do an intense cardio tennis drill group once a week. Hit a lot of balls in an hour session, lots of running. Object to get your heart rate elevated, and keep it up, without hitting that point of no return (I call it the ankle grabber).. I've been doing this session for 18 months now, and cruise through the hour pretty well.

But, since switching to vaping, I have that extra zig in my zag, that extra step chasin down that shot that everyone thinks I won't get to. My endurance already increased 20%. I am truly amazed! And my game is rocking right now.

I had the congestion in my lungs clearing out for the first two weeks. Coughed up some nasty crap during that period. But, I can tell the cilia lining in my lungs is moving a lot more freely now.

My lung capacity has definitely improved drastically. I can take deep breaths in between long points when I'm playing, and get my heart rate back to a resting rate, pretty quickly!

50 and kicking the Twenty somethings around the court, is a sweet thing, and vaping is going to help push my game forward! Good luck in your efforts, and proud of anyone serving our Country!

Thank you all for the replies.

ChesterN i am definately looking forward to that.

breakfastchief i have been smoking 15cigs a day pretty regularly for about a year now (since i have been back working at walmart), and have had no luck quiting because i really enjoy smoking, i just dont like all the stuff that comes with it.

DC2 i most certainly enjoy smoking, thats why im going this route.

RedZone thank you, that was what i was hoping to hear. with the average ship time of 7-10 business days, i should have aprox 5-6 weeks off analogs before i ship to basic. enough time to at least help my lungs so i dont loose one once more rigorous training begins.

thanks again
Dustin D
