Since summer is almost over and we have to get back to the winter grind. No more camping and boating and vacationing:( I did a little math and after assembling a DIY starter kit it looks like my juice will be nearly a quarter of the price that my favorite vendor charges:)
Here is what I ordered.

60 ml of 100 mg Flavorless Nicotine Liquid - Vegetable Glycerin USP Grade Kosher
3-120ml Cobalt Blue Glass Bottle
3-50 ml LDPE Cylinder Bottle With Childproof Cap
10 ml Black Honey tobacco Flavor (TFA)
10 ml tobacco Flavor Base 7Leaves Ultimate (FA)
10 ml Mocha Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Apple Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Peach Flavor (TFA)
2-1cc Luer Slip Syringe w/ cap
2-10cc Luer Slip Syringe w/ cap
2-3cc Luer Slip Syringe w/ cap
2-22ga x 1½" Hypodermic Needle
2-20ga x 1½" Hypodermic Needle
10 ml RY4 Double Flavor (TFA)
500 ml of Propylene Glycol USP Grade
250 ml Vegetable Glycerin USP Grade Kosher Certified
10 ml Pina Colada Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Apricot Flavor (FA)
10 ml Pear Flavor (TFA)

I have a disproportionally smaller bottle of Nic as I vape at 3mg. I ordered the 1 ml syringes for test batches and sweeteners or bitters if I decide I need them. I have 30ml and 10 ml bottles so I figure I can re-use those. If anyone sees any glaring omitions or input on ought to haves I would really like the input.

Should be handled with extreme care ,gloves ,eye protection and a mouth / nose mask are a very good idea along with good ventiliation.

I use a great many TFA flavoring and the Black Honey Tobacco is one of my favorites. I use it at 10% but then I like strong flavors. I find that it gets better after steeping for two weeks or more.

I purchase larger quanity of Nic ,PG and VG and most of my blends cost less than 7 cents per ml so a lot less expensive than ready to vape ones plus I get to adjust the flavoring along with the PG/VG .Nic and can make small test batches.

Welcome to DIY

Very nice order to start your DYI adventure. Start with 5 - 7% on flavors. Be aware tobaccos and cream mixes need to steep from 2 - 4 weeks (Expecially TFA flavors) and make small 5 to 10 ml test batches so you do not to waste your money in the even the mixes don't work out and wind up down the drain. There are several ways to quicken the steep process so do some research on steeping methods.

Thank you all for you sage advice.
Chas_L safety is of course paramount. after all what good is something if the hospital won't let you use it. (insert laugh here). I purchased the smaller quantities to make sure DIY was for me. After all what good is a partially used gallon of PG if I decide I like the store bought stuff better? We also have a certain amount of money alloted every month for our pleasures I have my vaping budget and she has her crafting budget. If I have vaping money that I get to pay forward every month for a few months then if I go big on something then she will understand:2cool:

UntamedRose Of course it is no differeent than getting a BBQ rub recipe right you want to be able to do it again and again, conversely if it sucks you wnt to be able to scribble through it and draw frowns on it :(:(:( At least thats what I like to do.

Dannyv45 Thanks for the advice the sample batch is the primary reason for the 1ml syringes the only steeping accelerator I am aware of is the hot water bath are there others?

You'd have to save up for one...but people speed-steep using ultrasonic cleaners - they shake superfast of course, and some of them heat, too... You can see some on Amazon...

In my opinion, an ultrasonic cleaner is an unnecessary piece of equipment. When you find your DIY ADV, speed steeping won't be a issue as long as you make big enough batches.

Also, if you're anything like me, you're going to need WAY more RY4 Double.

Cheers and congrats. You'll be surprised by how easy it is to make something that's superior to commercial liquids.

I've read (here in the forums) that you can use one of those small slow cookers set on low. I can't remember the thread I saw that in but I think you have to let them soak for 12 hrs or so and shake them every 2-3 hrs. Or was that let them soak for 2-3 hours and shake them about every 10-15 minutes? The ultrasonic cleaner will do that all for you, but it will cost you about 10X as much.
