oh i agree with that totally but you did not inform a new DIY'er that it would not be 18mg when you add flavs and sweetners but made sure to say keep accurate notes when that would be anything but accurate thats all i was referring to it kinda sent a wrong message but maybe i misunderstood what you were thinking and not writing

Yeah... There was a Little Slight of Hand in my Post. You are/were correct to Point It Out.

I start with 24 and dumb it down to 18. That is for my PG/VG + room for flavor. Once I break into the saline/di water world, then I either have to settle with a lower nic outcome or start with a higher base. I am not at that level yet but the more I read, the more I absorb and advance my skill. As far as the juice calculators go, alot of people beat me to the question. I made one in Google Spreadsheets because I am running linux and all of those mac and PC programs don't want to play nice. Once I perfect it, I will release it to the public for some positive criticism.

A question? Why do people Choose to vape 18mg? Why not 21mg? Or 16.7mg for that matter? Aren't the mg Numbers somewhat Arbitrary in the First Place?

If a Person Has to use 18mg Finished e-liquid, then for DIY, they Have to start with a Nicotine Base which is Higher than 18mg.

But if a Vaper was to choose an nicotine amount that was Lower than 18mg, say 15.3mg, then they could use 18mg Nicotine base and then just add Flavoring/Sweetener.

It's all just Numbers. And how Hard/Easy you want to make DIY.

I'm not worried about the math. My educational background is in mathematics and I work in a technical field; I'm pretty sure I can get the ratios right. I went for 36mg as that is considered "safe" to handle. Needless to say, I will still be using gloves/eye protection/mask for both protection and as a means of keeping my final product uncontaminated. Test kit was purchased to ensure the base nic is at the strength advertised.

That being said, the 36mg base does make mixing simple: 1/2 nic base and 1/2 VG + flavors in equal parts. Why 18mg? That is what I currently vape and it works for me. Nonetheless, I appreciate the concern about mixing things properly while keeping things simple.

Cool... Sounds like you shouldn't have any Problems doing the Math behind DIY.

It Isn't exactly Non-Linear Dif-EQ's

Yeah...

"There's a picture-view postcard to say that I called.
You can see from the fireplace,
one white duck on your wall.

Isn't it just too damn real?"

Good stuff. I've got a ton of old Tull on vinyl that I listen to on a vintage KLH Model 20 Plus I restored.

Sweet.

I guess I'm Old because I bought all those Albums (Stand Up, Benefit, Thick as a Brick, etc) when they First came out.

Guess I'm... Too Old to Rock n' Roll, Too Young to Die. LOL

BTW - A Newer Tull Album that is Very Overlooked is "Catfish Rising". If you have never heard it, Check it Out. Not a Bad Album at all.

Were not old, just well steeped - I bought War Child on it's release day and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd shortly after it's release. Those were the days :) Were just Skating away on the thin ice of a new day - love that tune :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

The Model Twenty Plus was the top of the line offering from KLH. A company brochure suggested this model if you listened to music at something approaching concert hall volumes. It featured 50 watts of IHF music power with a very low harmonic distortion of 1 percent. It came with the largest speakers, each having a 10" acoustic suspension woofer and a 1 3/4" wide dispersion tweeter. On the back of each solid walnut cabinet is a 3-position, high frequency level switch to adjust for varying room acoustics. Most impressive was the fact that KLH guaranteed these speakers to match within 1 db over the entire audio frequency range.

It still sounds sweet today. (Sorry, you got my vintage audio nerd all fired up.)

Yeah... Dark Side of the Moon.

I remember buying that Album at this Record Store/Head Shop called Licorice Pizza. I bought it, got home, Listened to the A-Side, then went back and bought another one.

The guy at the store asked me, "Weren't you just hear buying that Album?". I told him Yes.

So he asked me why I was buying another one?

I told him that way I could put the A-Side on the Turn Table and then put the B-Side on the Spindle and hear the Entire Album, Uninterrupted, while I had my Koss Headphones on.

He thought that was about the Coolest thing he had Ever Heard.

LOL

---

BTW - War Child is an Outstanding Album.

I love all that Vintage Audio Stuff.

I've got an Old Marantz Receive with a Big Volume Knob and Twin UV Meters on it. Maybe it brings back those Better Days, but I swear it sounds Better than my Digital Stuff with Better Specs.
