Somewhere out there
I think everyone needs to first find out if they like vaping, 808 does the trick, then the Provari kit looks great :) I spent way over the prices of a Provari kit on 808's in the beginning buying extra kits, extra batts, extra PCC charger, etc. I would have saved money by going with a Provari kit! LOL and yes now I have a Provari mini, plus 808's oh and 2 GLV's too! ha ha bnrk

Here and back
I went through the normal progression aswell but looking back I wish I had just went straight for the provari lol, woulda saved alot of money.

I tend to agree with you although this shouldn't be taken as a suggestion on my part for others. I spent thousands of dollars before I got it right. I could have saved tons of money had I gone for the gold, so to speak, out of the gate.

Very true, hindsight is always 20/20. Before buying my very first crappy luci ecig starter kit.. I would have never put down 200+ on a provari.

When I first started looking at e-cigs - before I discovered the wonderful world of ECF - I saw very basic kits in malls selling between 2-300 bux.

Example White Cloud Cirrus 3 kit is the same price for just three skinny-... batteries and a 5-pack of cartos - a major league ripoff in anyone's book!

A Provari "starter kit"?

Would be off to a great start, but how hard would it be to convince noob vapers to spend $249 for their first starter kit?

I'd imagine there's a few where money's no object, but I think it would be a hard sell for most.

Thoughts?

I consider it to be a starter kit to use the ProVari, not a beginners kit. It has what you need plus a couple of extras to use the ProVari right out of the box. I would never recommend a ProVari to a beginner, the price would scare most noobs off vaping from the start.

The ProVari "Starter Kit" is something I bought a few weeks after I started vaping on a couple eGo style PVs, knew I was into vaping for the long haul, and I wanted something that would last for a long time.

Pretty much same for me. Started on Ego-T, switched immediately to Ego-C, then started dabbling with tanks and cartos. By then I knew I was hooked (barely noticed I quit cigs), so I went straight for the Provari.

While I'm sure it would've saved lots of us a good deal of money to start off with a Provari now that we're somewhat experienced, I forgot all about those poor noobs who actually spend that much on the ripoff cig look-a-like kits. That's what's really a shame, for the same price could have had top of the line.

Even tho I don't really know that much about them (very expensive) & I've spent a zillion $'s on hardware, I like changing off. Plus, it seems there are soooo many new & improved (so they claim) bats coming out all the time, I can't see myself making that kind of investment in one. However, if you're taking the plunge, ENJOY! I understand that the people that have them love them.

I think its great advice for a noob.... Think about all the money they would save in the long run...... Provaris are tops....

There is a reason why they come out with new and improved stuff all the time

Example- cartos haven't really changed a whole lot since they first hit the scene. But CE2s, what, are there like 30 different revisions by now or something? That's because they all suck IMHO.

Now the Provari, like the Darwin, Buzz, and many of the better models may have had minor revisions here and there, but they got it right in the first place, just like cartos.
