Example- cartos haven't really changed a whole lot since they first hit the scene. But CE2s, what, are there like 30 different revisions by now or something? That's because they all suck IMHO.

Actually, the dual coil cartos are a bit different and they've come in fairly recently. They are the reason Provape had to come out with the Provari V2.

The basic over all premise is the same though. Unlike the world of difference from the first CE2s to the new Cryptonite *?

The dual coils are a variation on the same design, just a tinkering.

I have to agree on the mega/fluxo/CE/clearo stuff. A new one comes out and it's the future of vaping. A couple weeks later, they crack, they leak, they don't wick, and here's a modification that fixes it for a while. Then it gets revised. That's going to have to slow down before I try one.

Crawl before you walk.... Walk before you run , Run before you sprint, Sprint before you..... well you get the picture.

I have only been at this game for a few months. Started on the little cig style kit for $ 150 at the mall, 20 or so 18 mg Cherry cartos later.... 510 Titan Kit...... 2 weeks later, Ego kit.... Then Vari Volt Ego... Then a Lavatube which is where I am now.

Tried umpteen diff cartos , clearos , tanks, bla bla bla.... Realized I like the stardust the best perched on top of an Ego for my on the go vaping. Lavatube is great for higher voltage vaping , dripping on 3.0's... All the while getting an understanding for voltage , ohms, amps, mah , yada yada yada.

My 510 titan kit and 5 port charger has been collecting dust ever since the Ego hit my mailbox. Thought I was done with it. But just tonight i slapped a smoketech 1.7 single coil clearo on the 510 titan batt just for kicks... And I did so cause last week I bought a Multimeter and started testing all my stuff to see what was what and I tested the 510 batts tonight out of curiosity and they were pushing 4v fully charged. ... Hmmmmm 3.7 batts, why not right ? Of course that wont last long I know. But I'll be sticking the 510's back in the " on the go " lineup!. Sleek, light, not a bad vape. And at red lights it doesnt look like I'm doing something I shouldnt be doing with something that belongs in the nightstand drawer ! ( on her side.. hahahha )

Point being.... I'm glad I went thru the progressions of starting small and working my way up. With each upgrade, I enjoyed a whole new vaping experience and with it came a whole new level of excitement for all this.

I feel that the progression is really important when it comes to vaping. There are so many different products and accessories available to us and new vapers should get a good grasp of whats what and how it functions. I say start a newbie out slow and let him / her watch, listen ,read, ask and learn so they have some sort of foundation. I think that handing a newbie a Provari is robbing them of that foundation they're gonna need. And if they are anything like me they're gonna be ...... in a few weeks when the only possible upgrade to their new found joy is to have the thing gold plated and post it on here for all to see ! Cause baby... youre already maxed out !

I found ECF the night I got home from the mall with my new ciggy and googled " ecig" cause I had never heard of it till that day. I was on the forums and the chat mibbit and trying desperately to understand all the abbreviations and started asking people what I should buy. It was a mix of Reo Grande , Buzz , Lavatube and Provari. MOST said.... " Buy the provari.. its the best " I had no doubt it was as I listened. But it wasnt about the money for me, I just knew damn well that if I went straight to the top as soon as the gates dropped, within a week I would be thinking .......

" So this is it eh ?... This is the best ya got ??? When are they coming out with the Provari - 5000 Mega Turbo Lung Blaster-o-suarous ????? I want more ! I'm bored already.

I say point them to an Ego and some boge cartos and let them go step by step. Just my 2 cents.

Ok.. so now I'm off to finally click " Add To Cart " on a P2. THANKS ALOT ! hahahaha

How much ya wanna bet within a month I'll be hunting down a Mark Bugs Limited edition Wizard Titanium in hopes someone like me is " over it " and willing to let it go for a grand cause he has production # 12.

Stay cool..... Vape Naked

Peace.

The provari is a bargain compared to this mod.. 375.00 shipped! Not even VV haha... But it is titanium and touch. But still 375.00?

To each their own.. Zen announced his crazy $1,500 APV.. and if that's your cup of tea, then go for it.. I tried a number of 3.7 mods, hybrid APV's (just traded off my Zenesis Mini), even VV stuff (had a Darwin for a while)..

For me, I found my happy place with Provari + Line V2.. which is expensive up front (~$750 for two full setups), but not counting juice and replacing dead batteries, my cost to vape for the next 4-5 years is pretty much $0.

I'll have to check out this Line V2 whatever that is. I was jokin around about the Mark Bugs thing. I like gadgets just as much as the next guy but if its a lateral move I wouldnt spend 5 -6 times as much just to be able to say I have one. Not diggin it THAT much ... LOL

I think there is something to the journey. I started with a V2Cig and I won't call it crappy, it helped me quit smoking in a week. There is nothing crappy about that, no more cigarettes. From a pack a day, to nothing, in a week.

After 1 year I will have not smoked 7300 cigarettes. 7300!? That's insane, until I started to look at how many cigarettes I actually smoked, I had no idea, those full ash trays, that nasty smell, the black funk in the bottom of the trays, oh my god, that's in my lungs man, that's insane.

I went from a V2 to a Tornado Tank, from the Tornado to a Lavatube and just bought an ePipeMod in about the span of a month. I am a supernerd, so all this stuff is overly interesting to me, and I enjoy the fun, but I spent about 2x as much as I had to. I will however still save more than smoking by the end of the year, a lot more. Something like $1000. That's a big deal, especially since I just had a baby 6 days ago, that's a lot of diapers.

I think each of my devices has their place, I use the V2 when in public (bars, restaurants, etc). I use the Tornado when I'm at friends houses or closer social situations, and I use the Lavatube at home.

I did this breakdown for a friend today...

Up Front Costs:
Knight Rider: $89.97
eGo-C: $67.99
510 eGo: $29.99
ePipeMod: $150~
Tanks: $12.99 x 3 = $38.97
Total: ~$400.00

Recurring Costs:
Cartomizers: 2.95 (1 lasts for a week, you have 3 tanks, so you should still only need 52 or so for the year) - $153.40
eLiquid: 1.5 ml per tank, 1 tank a day, 36ml = $16.95 for the good stuff, which brings you to 24 days per bottle. Thats 15 bottles a year, thats 15 * 16.95 - $254.25
Total: ~$450.00 (allowing some room for variance in smoking amounts)

Year 1 total: ~$850.00

This might seem like a lot... but smoking cigarettes, assuming you steal all your lighters from your friends...

$6.50 a pack * 365 = $2372.50 - This assumes you are a pack a day smoker.

If you quit right now, in 365 days you will save ~$1500.00, in 2 years you will save ~$3500. That's just simple math you can't argue with, not to mention, this is way more fun than smoking cigarettes.

Peace.

I started small and worked my way up also and have really enjoyed it. I don't think I would appreciate the devices I have and use now as much as I would have if I just started at the top. Maybe if I had had someone here right beside me to actually show me what was what and how to do things.. but I didn't. It was hard for me to wrap my head around voltages and amps and resistance and that ohms and resistance were the same things and that stated voltage and voltage underload were not the same thing.. and it took awhile. It's been a rather expensive journey and I think I could have done just as well had I skipped the expensive mall "starter" kit and the LT but all in all I'm happy with my progression.

For a new vaper just starting out I def don't recommend going straight to the provari.. mainly because if they go for the best.. they will think that whatever troubles they run into.. the provari is the reason. If you don't know how to properly fill a carto then even the most expensive device out there isn't going to give a good vape. If you don't know the difference between Low, standard and high resistance then just putting one of those on the device and setting it to high can backfire and then they will post in that device's forum that the device isn't working and then someone else (who maybe has a cheaper device) will link to that post trying to show that device isn't worth all the hype. There is a learning curve and some of us need that curve more than others.

I agree entirely. Obviously ecigs are not as easy as cigarettes, there is a learning curve for sure, and part of me being happy with my vaping experience was watching those issues or bugs that I had with a lesser device get fixed by the better one.

Are any of my PV's what I would consider perfect? No. Is my V2 good? Yes, it's simple and works. Is my Tornado Tank good? Mostly, better than the V2 in some ways but not easier and I still don't feel I have found the perfect attachment yet. Is my Lavatube perfect? No. Is it great? Yes. Great is what I needed, and moving through those other devices let me appreciate great a whole lot more. Might I pick up a "Provari - 5000 Mega Turbo Lung Blaster-o-suarous" later when it comes out? Yeah I might, but for now I'm busy with what I have.

I still throw my hat in the start small and work your way up school of thought. After a month I am still playing with all of these devices, but to me that's fun. If I just had the Lavatube or splurged for a Provari, life would be a bit boring.

I think Starter kits in general are good because there is a whole new routine and ritual to learn. The majority of new users may give it up after a $$$ mall kit or convenience store ecig and think it's a ripoff. You can put together good stuff for cheap, but you don't know what to get. A high-end VV could be daunting, but most importantly, it will work. I stopped smoking on 3.7v, but it was stressful. I had battery deaths, and sneaked in a pack (or two) of cigs because I didn't have adequate backups.

I went through several devices as well. For me, Darwin worked perfectly, reduced the excess time my vaping routine took down to a couple of minutes a day. It reduced the amount "of stuff" that I need to carry and deal with. Early on, I could justify a $50 device more than I could a $240 one. Once I realized that I really could quit smoking, and how much money I was saving, I researched heavily, and am happy with what I got for the next step up. I am a severe gadget head, but I am satisfied with what I use, and am not looking for more toys. I got another Darwin for a backup (never need it). I've still saved a lot of money.

If you are serious about wanting to not smoke, an expensive device will still save you money, but not if you buy one every month... I haven't had a cigarette in 11 months and 22 days, and have not smoked 10,718 cigs. More importantly, I don't want to smoke!

It's hard to get my friends to switch even for $100...but then again there's the whole "I'm a broke college student"

ProVari V2 TurboTank XL Starter Kit

A Provari "starter kit"?

Would be off to a great start, but how hard would it be to convince noob vapers to spend $249 for their first starter kit?

I'd imagine there's a few where money's no object, but I think it would be a hard sell for most.

Thoughts?
