I understand that the Chinese are having a holiday, but I can't believe the way eastmall is handling it. One would think they would keep their store open and inform people that shipping would resume after the holiday. Possibly offer a discount for those willing to wait.

I was shocked and surprised to find that the store was empty. I almost removed them from my bookmarks thinking they had went out of business.

The other Chinese sellers are keeping their store open and at least one of them is offering up to a 10% discount for waiting. Since I am placing over a 6 month supply order, this is worth it to me.

I have always dealt with Eastmall in the past, but the store being closed and the low prices and holiday discount from the other guys leaves me little choice. It's really a shame they decided to totally close their store and remove all inventory for the holiday. I'm sure they'll loose a lot more business than just my self.

Personally, I wish more companies really did take their holidays seriously, for their employee's sake. Eastmall won't be coming back from holiday with a HUGE backlog of orders to deal with. In terms of their employees, I applaud their choice. As an Eastmall customer, I wish I'd had the funds to make an order prior to the holiday.

Just my 2 cents worth. I love Eastmall and their customer service is incredible. If they can afford to close for holidays - good for them. I wish our greedy corporate companies in the USA would do the same to allow family time for all employees. Everyone needs some 'downtime'. I know these people work like mad when they are open. I don't think it will seriously hurt them. I will still order from them when I need to.:):thumbs:

A little personal story - There is a family owned and operated pizza/Italian restaurant in my town. They are closed every Sunday and Monday. They also close down for 3 weeks summer vacation each year. They are the best in the area. So, when they are closed, I am forced to go elsewhere if I must have pizza. However, since they are the best in the area, I always return to them, once they reopen - as long as they are still selling the best pizza!

when you find good service and decent products,

you will come back -------

abnd if they are closed for a few days, -- then you wait for them to re-open
knowing theat your service and products will be there again --

I think probably the biggest issue here is a lack of notification on the website. This could very well lead to loyal customers thinking that EM has closed shop, and looking elsewhere in future.

I appreciate that during the holidays, EM staff get a TOTAL holiday (that's really cool!), but they would be able to do the same if David left the product on the website and added a highly visible "We're on holiday" notification on the site.

Allowing people to purchase whilst advising that orders will be processed on the return from holidays could mean only one thing for Eastmall - continued revenue stream.

But then, that is how I would run any business of my own, and as Eastmall is not my business, I guess they can do things however they want :D

I don't mind either way, I'll still continue to buy my stuff from EM when I can :)

but other then that i don't understand the backlash. Its not like you can actually buy something from any other chinese vendor since they are all closed.

they all reopen at the same time, and if you go by that then it doesn't matter if they left the stuff up to purchase or not because they wont be shipping out the order until monday and they reopen on saturday. so it doesn't matter if you purchased the stuff during the period they are closed or if you order this weekend coming, you will still receive it at the same time..
