Hello!
Hopefully this post is legal here since I just signed up for a new account after hours(days) of stalking!
New*er vapie(?) :D for a tad over a year. Not quiet as long as many many people! :vapor: Anyways, I need a suggestion on what tank to purchase. I have always purchased Kanger tanks, and currently use the mini protank 2. I am highly interested in the Innokin iClear 3B. Just need a little help making up my mind.

Anyways, What tank would YOU prefer;

A) Innokin iClear 3B

B) Kanger Aerotank

I just migrated from a standard Ego battery to the Vamo V5 (still patiently waiting for it to come in the mail).

Thanks!

Welcome! I personally love the Nautilus. It is a bigger investment, but after trying numerous tanks I find it to be an extremely satisfying vape.

If you watch the deals and steals thread you can find good sales for it. Sorry that I can't post the link at the moment though.

ETA: Between your two choices though, I'd go aero tank. I've found being able to adjust airflow a wonderful asset on a tank.

Keep that mini protank around because that's going to work well on your vamo (you may have to pry the center pin a bit) and it saves on the 510 threading.

I honestly prefer a protankII with the aero base. My opinion is that single coil is where it's at, espcially if you're using a vv mod like the vamo. The replacement heads are cheap, easy to tweak and easy to rebuild if you're into that sort of thing.

Of course once you get to that point we need to talk kayfuns!

Thanks guys! SOOO, after I posted this I saw they made airflow "valves" for the Protank 2 & 3. I also had a $15 gift card for Ebay. After heavy deliberating then between the Aerotank, then protank 3, or protank 2 I have decided on the Protank 2 with the airflow valve.

v1k1ng1001 thank you for confirming the question I was then going to post. You must be a mind reader! (I was going to ask what's the point of the Aerotank if we can just get the swappable base?)
I do plan on rebuilding the coils. A few youtube videos and research later I decided that would be a great idea, and I bought some kanthal, and some organic cotton (?) a few days ago. Still going to look into the silica wicks (is that what they're called?)
KAYFUNS?? Those looks and sound alien to me. I had to look it up and will be checking it out more in depth shortly! lol. That'll probably come waay later down the road as soon as my significant other forgets about me spending his money on me!

Thanks again for your each of your input!

I use a Protank 3 with a airflow control valve and it improved the clearo immensely. Of course, making coils for it has improved it even more.

So, do you use the cotton or silica for your wick? Would you say there's a big difference in what works better? Right now I'm using a 50/50 mix primarily but I did order some "fancy" organic stuff to try since I had a coupon code :D it's 100% VG with a tad of distilled water for thinning.

Cotton. I bought Ekowool (which is a fancy silica) when I started to build coils, but I like working with cotton better. After the initial funny cotton taste goes away, it tastes great. Basically the Ekowool was more of a pain to work with, mostly annoying to cut, and I had such an easier time with cotton that I haven't regretted it at all.

And it is damn cheap.

Try them both and see which you like better! I prefer cotton although I keep some silica around.

A Kayfun is an atomizer that works a lot like a protank except that it's a bit larger and set up so that you can easily rebuild the coil and wick. Hell, if you can rebuild a protank head then you can easily build on a kayfun--which you can get a decent clone of for $30!

Here's a vid:

Good choice! I have two Nautilus and two Aerotanks. Although both are good the Aerotanks work better and are easy to rebuild –if you're so inclined. The Nautilus, tho finer in many aspects, tend to flood and gurgle easily and require a lot of attention. They're also a nightmare to rebuild.

OTOH, after struggling with the hassle of head rebuilding and/or the expense of replacing them, I got me a pair of Kayfun clones. They are a true joy to rebuild (I can do a standard coil in about 5 minutes and a double micro in less than 15); usually just pull the cotton and replace when I change juices. The silica builds last me a week or ten days with minimum maintenance (although the cotton tastes better).

The K.funs do give a much better vaping experience than other tanks, IMHO. At about $25 for the better clone at SlowTech, they are also much economical than the other "high end" tanks.

The iclear is plastic.
Pick between the Aerotank or the Nautilus instead. Both glass tanks with airflow control

A kayfun is a proper rebuildable with room to put your coil and screws to wrap and screw the coil wire down.
The cleoros like the protanks etc have replaceable coil head atomizer units which you can recoil and or rewick but they are very tiny to work with, especially reinserting the rubber grommet at the bottom where the coil wire has to make electrical contact.
