You can get inexpensive ohm meters from fasttech but it takes a month to get, or a multifunction multimeter from harbor freight

Imperative to know the resistance of your coils especially if all you have is a variable voltage rig

MVP2 from 101vape is only $39.99 (well when they have em in stock, they sell out CRAZY fast)
A real MVP2 for $40 bucks? Wow, now I'm really soaking in my sorrows! Damn, that's a great price! I'll check out their site to see what other niceties they offer! The idea of having an ohm meter makes a ton of sense, too. That's next on my list! Thanks WarHawk! :thumb:

Ha ha! Yep, that's what I'm going to do since I drive past that new rip-off shop every day! I may even pass nasty gas every time I walk out the door.

I think I'm going to go ahead and get another mod, and have a few in mind. The SVD that you mentioned, the Joye eVic, or some other large unit that I can fit an 18650 battery in. I like the looks of the Innokin 134, but it's a monster! I also looked at the Innokin VTR and I've read some good reviews of it here on this forum, but I did really like the looks of the Joyetech eVic. It's got a pretty decent display, too. Any suggestions out there? I thought for sure my next mod would be a Provari, but after seeing some of the others, there are a lot of nice devices on the shelves. Thanks again, Edyle!

So far, the Joye Evic is the ONLY one I have seen that you can plug in to charge like a cellphone, and vape while charging; all the others you have to take the battery out to charge. You don't have to buy a charger, and you can get by on one battery without skipping a vape.

the 134 is my wishlist; theres also supposed to be a 134 mini that just came out.

The vtr looks like a good buy too.

Of course there's the ole provari, but it don't have eGo threads and no VW ...... YET.

But on a more affordable level, there's the SVD, the zmax, the vamo.

After that there's the batteries; and the king of batteries is the MVP.
Then there's the mvp's little sister, the VV3. Both the MVP and VV3 are passthough - you can vape while charging.

So you already have an MVP V1; it doesn't have VW;
One simple consideration would be to get the simple VV3 and you'll get VW as cheap as possible.

I have a zmax and a vamo, both recently acquired: now in both cases of zmax and vamo, theres a few versions around; the latest version in each case is version 5.

As for the SVD, it seems somehow underrated or something, probably because people go for the MVP battery.

Hi HecticEnergy, I tried the cotton and it makes the liquid taste different. I think I'll purchase some wicking from the local shop and try that, instead. I'm using resistance of 3.3 - 3.7 with an Innokin Itaste MVP. I find that if I turn it up any higher, I get a burnt taste. Thanks for your suggestions! I wish I was in Austin right now, it's my favorite city!

3.3 is your voltage.. Resistance is measured in ohms, that you don't set with your mod, it's based on the properties of the coil.

I know what you mean about cotton. The first ml of juice tasted funny, after that, it started to fade, after 2 ml the taste was gone. I'm using targets "100% natural" cotton balls. I just boiled/rinsed/changed water/boiled/ rinsed 5 cotton balls... I squished them against the side of the pot while they were Boiling. Boiled them for about 5+ minutes each time. Rinsed in between and after, ringing them out while rinsing to try to get all of whatever out. If this doesn't work I'll try organic from Walgreens. If that doesn't work I'm trying de gummed hemp (if I can find it). If all that fails.. It's back to silica. I hope I can get the cotton to work though... It's cheap and available.

I ran into the same thing. The post was in there pretty tight, but I wrapped it with a towel and gave it a good tug and it came out.
So how did the tuneup go?

The first time getting em apart can be a booger, once they are out they come out just a bit easier the next time

I should have told you that before...sorry

And yes I leave in the base for leverage, then use a thumbnail to unscrew once the chimney is off

Cotton wick should be rolled in your fingers and be about the same thickness as the wick in the coil below, you will find your sweet spot pretty quick

I prefer this chart, but the one from before is just as good

I hit all my bottom coil protanks at 6.5 watts

before you touch your cotton you should wash your hands with unscented soap. try to play with it as little as possible after that. I use the rolled sterile from CVS no boil either (saves time)
