Great info guys. I've taken two of mine apart numerous times and got them back together successfully. I'll be getting some wicking material so I'll be able to change the wicks when the time comes. The hardest part for me is getting the needle plate to seat when putting it back in the atty. I'm using tweezers that don't work very well. What are you guys using?

What I do is stick a tank on the needle. This helps line it up right. Push it in and wiggle it a bit when it hits bottom. When it will not wiggle any more, it's probably lined up. Give a good push and it will click in. That's the best way I've found.

so my only ego-t atty is a goner due to overzealous cleaning (broke coil) but...

I had taken it apart MANY times to adjust my wick, I found that the mesh that is found on other atomizers was the easiest source for my replacement (some say "cap" "hat") mesh bead that was wrapped around wick fibers to hold them together & to allow air to move thru needle w/juice, mine never was in "hat" form .

My needle plate always came out easy enough once I found the right needle nose plyers that the tip would fit in the tip of needle...grab & pull straight out...check wick /clean coil* & put back in with a tank on needle plate....pushed till it clicked .

I used the silica rope scottbee mentioned ...I had read about the c2 wicking ...but had never seen a c2 ,wish I had ,I have now & duh! it seems a much easier way to go,if one has a c2 ....they are hard to catch "in stock" ...they are pretty cool & saving my .... at the moment .

but alas ...I miss my ego-t ...need to order a new one .

* don't pick on your coil ...even if there is a wad on gooey wick on it !! soak in hot water or ISO 1st then dry burn .

p.s. Is it just me ? or do you all "hear" House's voice in your head.... when reading scottbee's posts

Sweet. That made that process a whole lot easier. I wish I would have tried that earlier. Thanks for the tip.
