I normally rinse the tank out with hot tap water and let it air dry. No soap needed. For the wick/coil, I'll soak it in vodka for a half hour or so, then rinse it and let it dry overnight. The vodka soak isn't critical, but I find it does a better job of cleaning all of the old flavors out.

Same as bhswmc01 I have found very hot water is more effective than anything else (at least anything else safe to use for this purpose). If I'm in a hurry, I also fill with everclear and shake it up then drain. The everclear will mix with any water left in it and the remaining mixture (after draining) evaporates much faster.

A soak in really hot water, then a quick rinse through with hot water, being sure to blow out the head - that's my daily regiment, and it keeps my coils near perfect for months.

In short, using more extensive methods work - and probably better. However, I tend to think that using just hot water on a regular basis works wonders. In fact, it's probably just regular cleaning that does wonders.

I just rinse out my tanks with hot water, when the wick isn't preforming up to standard, I just put in some new cotton and throw out the old. Cotton is cheap, cotton wicks good... Oh, my bad. I don't use PT's anymore, um, but when I did I had 2 of them and just used different flavor in the 2 tanks and when switching juice flavors, would put in a new head and run it till was out of that flavor. 5 pack of coil heads were $5, so never tried cleaning the wicks. Then I went rba and gave the PT away. PT is a good beginners tank and just a gateway to rba's so fair warning. lol

Vape long and Prosper!!

I've never been a soaker to be honest.
As Christopherja mentioned, a good rinse in very hot water every 2-3 tanks works wonders. I'd do a dry burn every few days too and my heads lasted for weeks.

Also, letting them dry for hours and hours isn't really necessary. Just dry the tank with a q-tip and shake off the heads as well as you can, fill and vape.

So does the hot water or vodka method work for the Kanger bottom coils too? I was hesitant to get them wet so I just wiped them off or changed them. We had classic cola in one tank and even after cleaning the tank you could taste it even over the new flavor. I got my first vapemail today with 25 flavors and I am wanting to taste them all. I have changed several times, but probably am not getting the true flavors due to the previous. SOme I have definitely still been able to taste over the new one. Good news is they have all tasted good even together so far. Some I have just mixed with a new flavor once the tank is very low.

Yes - the cleaning process is exactly the same.

Do you let the wicks dry before you do the dry burn? How exactly do you do the dry burn? I soaked some heads in vodka like mentioned here, and then let them dry for 24 hours, and put it into davide tank and it did not taste like a fresh atty. I bought (20) 2.5ohm attys on eBay because they're less than $.25/day for me! But I'd love to save more money if someone could please explain to me how to do the dry burns, because I'm an idiot in most regards ;) I'm more into high end live audio recording!!!

There are lots of good YouTube videos on dry burning but I'll be honest: I stopped dry burning months ago. I just soak heads in vodka for several hours, then water. Since I've generally got 10 in rotation, they get plenty of soaking. When I get back to them, they're fine.
