My multipronged solution to this issue includes ORTHODONTIC ELASTIC - BRACES - DENTAL RUBBER BANDS for bottles in my UC and testing DIY juice mixes in various tanks. Very strong and will withstand high temps and abuse. Natch, they are what dentists use for braces. LOL

The ladies even bling it up with these. They hang dangles and such from them. My source:

I have a Brother label make. It works perfectly.

Oh and the beads can be made with nail polish.

I just make a label table in word. Then print out and tape to my carto's. Labels are always saved and I can print out whenever I need and easy to add new ones.

Colored e tape - For $2.50, go to harbor freight and pick up Item #66462 - 5 rolls various color electrical tape (white, yellow, red, blue, green). cut it in various shapes, 1/2 x 1/2, or 1 x 1/4. The thin ones can go straight or at an angle. You can feel the difference when searching in your vest pocket between 3 tanks while driving. Also write with a Sharpie. The tape will stay on as long as you want (although the sharpie does fade). Easy to remove and the goo isn't a problem.
This also perfect for cartos (which all of mine are black).

Another thing I do, since I have 2 650mAh batteries, is mark ONE of them. Take your Sharpie (I use RED) and color in the metal stripe BETWEEN the 2 sets of threads. Your tank will cover the marks. Useful if one battery is under-performing to know which is which.

Avery All Purpose Labels 1/2 X 3/4. Comes in little sheets of 25 in a plastic container of 525 @ Wally World. Write on it, put it on the tank. Peels off without leaving any glue.
