So i just got a new tank, well my first tank ever, and i was just wondering should it be left completely vertical when not in use, or is it ok to like lay it down when not in use ?

If it is a cartotank, there should be no problems laying it horizontal.

If it is a vivi nova style tank, it depends. I've not owned the genuine vivi nova, but I have had some clones by Smoktech, the Titan or Screw tanks. Even though they use a threaded screw top, I found if the top is not completely screwed on snug, that they will in fact leak. I first became aware of this when I noticed droplets like sweat on the tank tube's surface.

I have a genuine vivi nova and I haven't had any problems with it leaking lying on its side. I do make sure that the top and bottom are tightly sealed. One suggestion I do have is to just burn in for a couple of seconds if you have it lying on its side for more than a few min as I have noticed some juice pulling through when leaving it on its side for a long time. This is the only time that I have had juice pull through with the nova.
