I understand the difference between a dual coil cartomizer and single coil cartomizer (for the most part). However, I'm looking around at tanks, and found that some are dual coil and some use single coil cartomizers. I should be able to swap in different cartomizers, correct? So even if I buy a dual coil tank, I could just put in a single coil later?

The reason I ask, is because I currently use a Provari - and I know they work strangely with dual coil cartomizers due to the safety features. I'd like to make the right purchase for a tank, but even after reading the tank master list, I still can't figure out if I'm better off going with:

1. DCT MAP Tank
2. Big Daddy/Lil Mama Tank
3. Liquinator

Single coils just work better in the tanks than the duals. At least in my experience, and I've tried them all. The duals all seem to let too much liquid in and gurgle or flat out flood. I run the little $8 Chibi tanks on my ProVari with 3ohm Boges in them and they're fantastic. :)

I have been trying a number of the cheaper tanks lately and have found good success with the tank from Dark City Vapors, the Chopper Cyclone tank. I have one of the new tanks that Mom and Pop Vapor shop on the way and I am really looking forward to it. Both tanks rely on a side hole to fill instead of a from the top approach. Not sure if the M&P tank is a stopper or not, but initially it was the only issue I had with the Cyclone tank. Once I got used to pushing it in, it worked well. Really looking forward to the M&P tank, also they offer allot of different resistances. Best of all, they come under 15 bucks a piece!!!!

I agree with Bianca. IMHO, Boge 3.0's are the way to go with a tank system. I tried dual coils, and I don't like them because they flood too easily, and I don't want to mess with anything that's not easy peasy. I have lots of homemade syringe tank mods, which you can make yourself quite easily. I use my homemade tanks for juices that may damage my polycarbonate tubes on my liquinators. I also have 7 liquinators. I enjoy all of my tanks, but I prefer my liquinators. They are just easier all around, much easier to fill, refill, and to change cartos using a "hot switch". I have been eyeing the LIil Mama tanks from Big DaddyVapor. To me, they look identical to the liquinator tanks for a lot less money.

I think you really need to buy one of each of the cartos first and see what you like best. Ive heard some people love DC's and some hate them. I personally do not like them at all. They just dont seem to perform for me like a Boge 3 ohm on my Provari at 4.5 volts. I kept having flooding issues and slightly burnt taste. Not sure why. Maybe I just had bad luck with them. Im betting you will prefer Boge's 3 ohm single coils for your Provari. You cant go wrong with that.
Now for the tank suggestion! Get yourself a lil mamma! They are awesome. I just received mine 2 days ago and couldn't be any happier. Absolute awesome quality and looks. The stainless steel end caps look SICK on the satin Provari. Good luck with your search and I hope you find something that works great for you.

I've just been vaping a new-to-me DCT from MadVapes. I have to agree with these folks - when it vapes w/o gurgling or flooding I really like it. But it's high maintenance. I get a lot of liquid pulled into the drip tip and yuck when it makes it to my mouth. I cut a small circle of blue foam and put it in the end of the carto. Every so often I take it out and squeeze it out with a tissue then put it back in. So I'm also going through juice faster.

You'd think with such a tiny hole in the flanged Smoketek carto's it would not have flooding issues - but it does. I'm probably going to cut the tank down and use it with standard length Boge's.

I did not like dual coils in my liquinator. Kept flooding. ....

Single coils just work better in the tanks than the duals. ... The duals all seem to let too much liquid in and gurgle or flat out flood. ... :)

I agree with Bianca. ... I tried dual coils, and I don't like them because they flood too easily, ...

Update - I picked up a DCT from madvapes - love it so far! I'm trying it out with the 1.5 dual coil carto that it comes with (I ordered two 2.5 ohms as well) on my Provari, and so far so good! It only lets it go up to 4.2v before the error messages start kicking in, but so far I'm really enjoying this. As someone who can't stand cartomizers for more than a few drags before getting that "carto taste", I can say I'm pleased so far!

Sadly, the one I REALLY wanted was the DCT MAP tank (stainless steel) - I see those are on sale today for like 38$. Doh! Oh well, this is really satisfying so far and still less than a third of the price! Thanks for all the advice!

i had one delivered to me on monday morning, i am loving this thing as well...just not liking how easily the tank slides up and down on the carto but so far no leaking,no gurgling and no burnt taste..have easily changed the juice once already...hits great on an ego-t battery and great on my 3.7+v Bm

I'm trying to find out more about these "tanks". Do you keep reusing them and just put in new atomizers as you need them? I think the poster above me said they work on the Ego batteries. Will they work on box mods that individuals on the forum makes? I think I was looking at Clouds of Vapor and I saw 2 there. One was $55 and the other $24. Why the huge difference in price?

Hi - most tanks use cartomizers and you just replace them as needed.

I've used my DCT from madvapes on my ego and it worked pretty well! Looks a little strange but works fine.

The difference between the clouds of vapor tanks you're seeing is that one uses stainless steel instead of delrin, which is more expensive.

Edit: dunno about box mods, but I imagine it would vary depending on the connector

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you replying. OK, so, I wouldn't be able to use the low resistance 510 atomizers I currently have, with them, right? And you can use them on pretty much any pv mod? They basically eliminate the need for a juice fed mod, is that right?

I primarily drip and use these when I am feeling lazy or going out of the house(does not happen often) and find amazingly the flavor is awesome and it seems less juice is wasted. Go get yourself one of the cheaper models to try. Dark City Vapor has a 14 buck cyclone tank that works really well and vaperite and others have the smok dual coil tanks for 12 bucks and mom and pop offer one for 14 bucks. Still testing the differences and seeing which one I prefer, but I have had the cyclone the longest and it has worked well.

Thank you so much. I'll try one of those and see what they are all about.

works fine on a box mod... depends on the volts of your mod... i am not great on the volts and ohm's thing but a picture will tell you...

picture of tank on two egos....bad picture because my equipment doesnt have the scuffs on it that the pics show..lol

Thanks for the pictures! It looks a little clunky on the Ego batteries but since that is all I have I'll try it out on them. I think I understand now. No one has had any big problems with them leaking a bunch?

Also, is there somewhere to read about punching your own holes in the atomizers or do I just need to buy some already punched?

On the Vaperite page I see the dual coil cartomizers. I bought some dual coil cartomizers awhile back. They came in green wrappers. I only tried to use one of them b/c it took so much juice to fill it up and I couldn't get it to stop tasting burnt. Are those what I need to use in the tank that Vaperite sells? Could I punch my own holes in them?
