Just keep in mind that a mech mod runs at 3.7V (unless you have a kick installed) you will probably want to use a lower ohm wick in your protank to get more kick. On the reare occasion that I use my mech mod I always put a 1.8ohm wick in my protank or evod. Anything larger than the 1.8ohm just doesn't perform very well for me.

You can certainly put anything you want on a mech. It will vape. It's just a power supply that puts out what the battery is capable of, which means less power as its charge wears down. I've found cartos are much more forgiving to that power change than clearos and properly set up RBA's are best at it.

you CAN put anything you want on a mech...
but the best results will be gained if you can taylor your coil to your battery ... which is easier done with an RBA
BTW my RBA has a tank ... the DiD.

But I don't use it on a mech.

Yep! What Ron said. Keep in mind (well for me personally anyway) the lower the resistance the better the vape when dealing with mechanicals. I'd look into getting something a RDA (I started with the Igo-L) if you want to see how you like it. For RDA's I recommend a RSST.

i like my builds around 1.0 -1.2 so far

Not everyone enjoys a low resistance atomizer on their juice device. I prefer a cooler vape. I don't need the heat that an analog gave. I prefer something smoother, with more flavor. For me on a mechanical I prefer 2.0 ohm standard resistance. Clearos and cartotanks work fine on a mech.

And although a lot of people will recommend a rebuildable device (RBA/RDA), I say you'll be better off being new to leave those for a little later on. Clearos and cartos/cartotanks are much easier and less fiddly than an RBA. Start basic, KISS (keep it simple stupid) and when you're ready, advance to the rebuildables. Learning the ins and outs of vaping is tough enough as it is when you're new.

thanks guys but whats the difference from an rba and an rda

RDA-rebuildable dripping atomizer..RBA-rebuildable atomizer. An rda does not have a reservoir for you e liquid. You just drip a few drops every so often and vape. An rba has a reservoir. Typically any ejuice will taste better on an rda. Unless you buy a high dollar rba.

Yes i have. Maybe its just my personal opinion. But if it didnt taste better, what would constitute the hassle of having to drip every so often as opposed to just always using a tank? Yes my juice tastes just as good out of my kayfun that it does my dripper. But i have tried a loot of different rbas where this wasnt the case.

There's no validation for this. Both devices can use the same wick and coil setup. The only difference is how the juice is delivered to the coil. One is manual (RDA), the other is more or less automatic (RBA).

^Why will your juice taste better with a RDA over a RBA? Have you tried using different wicks other than SS with a RDA?

Get a rebuildable that does both (Like the Smoktech RSST), and play around yourself. They're really not much more expensive than a ProTank (Probably cheaper in the long run), and you'll have a few options to play with.

And i take it you meant rba in your final sentence? I didnt think you could use mesh with a dripper.
And yes that is a serious question lol. Do you have a link to show? id like to try that. And i apologize for misinformation. Apparently is just my opinion

i was told you had to use an rba for a mech mod is this true or can you use a tank like the protank

I can relate my own experience with that. I was using a Protank on a spinner battery when I got my first mech a Sigelei 24, and the first vape on it was a real eye opener. Wow, wall clouds happening right away. I was very pleased, but soon found out that a mech will go through Protank coils pretty quick, and I found myself rebuilding them all the time. 1.8 ohm Protank coils didn't last me very long on my mech. Okay, I'm a chain vaper, and was a 3 pack a day smoker before I started vaping, which prolly has something to do with it, but I don't think a Protank is really the way to go on a mech. At least it didn't prove practical for me.

After a period of rebuilding Protank coils and buying enough of them to have a good supply, I decided it was finally RBA time, and ordered up an AGA-T2. It's my daily vape rig now, the RBA and mech, and I'm quite happy with it. I've not used my Protank since. As always your mileage may vary.

You may want to get yourself an RSST, which is a kinda the Ford Taurus of RBA's, and a very good beginner's RBA. You can get one for less than $30 online. The AGA-T2 (the 64 Chevy Impala of RBA's) is also very good, and I think it's better looking.

I have 1.4 ohm vivi novas heads being used on my mech using 28 guage microcoils. Works just fine. My rbas and genesis atomizers are generally lower at around .8 - 1.2. Do what you want though its your vape experience and no one can really tell you your doing it wrong they can just give advice on how to achieve certain results.

I rebuilt my first (and second) coil today on my nimbus the first one was .2 im not comfortable with that and my battery wont work with it, so I did it again and got a .4 by this time I was frusterated and I knew my battery would work with it so I threw it together and dripped on it. I finally know why every one ( or most people ) like mechs it was the best tasting vape and biggest cloud I have ever seen and tasted.

sadly my vamo witch was my first mod I don't see it having much time left I may just stick to mechs from now on
