Yes I rebuild my own coils. I was looking at the Aerotank with is a dual coil. Can it be switched over to a single coil?

I do believe you can get it and the pt3 to use the old coil; I'm sure there's people here who have tried; i just get confused remembering whether it works with the pt3 or aero or both or if you have to change the base too or make some other adjustment. But I think it does.

You are correct. Both the protank 3 and aerotank will take the protank 2 coils which are single coil without any adjustments. One of the places I ordered my aerotanks from sent me protank 2 coils by mistake(which they corrected and even let me keep the wrong coils) and I did try them out in both my protank 3 and aerotank. I know I have read of people buying the aerotank base to use on their protank 2 as well so using the single coils in them should not be an issue.
