Does anyone know if the throat hit off of the Ego tank is any good? Been looking for something that gives a good throat hit that i don't have to keep dripping on.

As is the case, ymmv on TH - some are reporting good - others not. Throat hit is primarily an attribute of the nicotine level but more wattage can help in that the heat will get better vaporization and more vapor which can help with better absorption/impact.

While the regular eGo battery runs about 3.2volts and the tank attys have been running at 2.1-2.3Ω you can get fair wattage with that. Using a tank atty on a true 3.7V PV would of course get you better wattage. The new Special Edition Riva has been measured at 3.7v and of course you could also use a 510 to 510 adapter (the adapter for the mains charger that some vendors sell - or a 510 to 901 and a 901 to 510 adapters will also work) to use on any 3.7v mod. I don't recommend using the tank atty on higher voltages because of the lower resistance of the atomizers.

Every thing Kent said is spot on, I just wanted to add one of the reasonings for not using it on higher voltages than 3.7v for the ego-T atties (unless you have a variable voltage mod, and then maybe up to 4.0v constant would slide) you will start running into wicking issues and would be more prone to dry vapes since the structure seems to be designed around those 'normal' voltages
