On a Triton, there's 4 things that get screwed (besides your savings account, but I digress).
Overtightening the tank to the battery might cause the bat center post to be pushed down, causing problems.
Same with the battery to the charger. In either case, tighten it down till snug, then no more than about a quarter turn more, max. I can go further, but there is no need. Anything further and the sealing grommets get over-compressed, plus the center post thing.
Any tank should be able to be unscrewed with one hand.
Overtightening the coil head, where it could compromise the other seals on the center tube, could cause leaks or breakage. These I tighten till I feel it "bottom out" and no further.
Or overtightening the black top tip will break it. Again, tighten till snug, then no more than a quarter turn.
Overtightening ANYTHING is wrong and usually results in damage, be it spark plugs, lug nuts, pony tails, carto tanks, pickle jars, etc.
