Hello,

When I ordered my tank, I ordered two new batteries. Both manual, one diamond and the other the new titan manual. With tanks, I'm getting maybe 3 hours out of the batteries. Before I could go a whole day without changing my batteries, and my vaping habits haven't changed. Will probably have to order another battery to get in the rotation.

Is this normal? Or is something else going on?

Thank you

Phil

The Cartomizers that come with the tank are 1.5 Ohms, Ohms is the measured resistance of the atomizer. If an atomizer had no resistance the metal coil would get so hot it would simply burn the air wick tube and surrounding polyfill material instantly.

1.5 Ohms is pretty low resistance resulting in a very warm vape and much higher amperage or power draw from the battery. The higher one goes in Ohms rating like a 2.5 Ohm or say a 3.0 Ohms the cooler the vapor and the less amperage or power is being drawn from the battery.

In simple terms let's say you get 3 hours of vaping with the 1.5 Ohm Tank Cartomizer, by using a 3.0 Ohm Tank Cartomizer you could conceivably get 6 hours of vaping, but the vapor itself would be cooler since the atomizer isn't heating up as much as 1.5 Ohm atomizer would.

Well the easy answer of course is the number of coils but it actually is a little more involved on the end user side. Personally I think the idea of single-coil tank carto is cool, but it simply doesn't work as well as a dual coil. The reason...not enough heating surface distributed inside the coil to vaporize the juice effectively. This leads to the single coil collecting residue on the coils at a much higher rate, suppressing it's ability to generate heat and leading to a much shorter performance life.

Dual coils for Tanks have been around for about 8 months, single coils for tanks have been around for about 8 weeks. To get a better understanding I will add a pic of the inner workings of a Dual Coil....give me a few minutes.

I question whether or not Single Coil Tank Cartos will be around 6 months from now. It kind of reminds me of Goldilocks, this porridge is too cold (single coil), this porridge is too hot (triple coils), but this porridge is just right (dual coils).

Artymis sir dual coil cartos feature two higher ohm coils running in parallel, so a 2.0 ohm dual is actually 2 4.0 ohm coils. This gives you the flavor profile of a 4.0 carto, with the throat hit and vapor production potential of a single 2.0 ohm carto. Higher the ohms, more voice each aspect of a flavor gets. This can be a good or bad thing depending on the tastes of the user. Hope this helps.

Well I certainly hope the single coil will be around for a very long time. Having tried all the tank carts I have settled on the 2.0 ohm single for my favorite. The only dual cart I like is the 1.5 but due to the heavy battery drain I will not be ordering more. The 2.0 singles I have used have lots more vapor and throat hit than the 2.0 and 2.5 duals.

Artymis, I feel your pain! I am constantly rotating my batteries to vape all day. I have gone to higher OHM replacement carts in most of my tanks, however I REFUSE to go higher in my Wow Nuport! The taste, the TH, the vapor....:) I went and ordered the Ego kit to have longer battery life. I also wish V4L had a big battery.

Me too, Shank. My new "V4L Ego" is on the charger right now; I can't wait to use it with one of my tanks!
