Since the release of the tanks with the 1.5ohm dc cartos have been doing some serious testing with them and the long term affects they have on the king diamond and stealth batteries. The usual rule is you should never use low resistance cartos on stick batts, and dual coils is also considered a big no no. Because the king diamonds and stealths are based on a high drain cell though, numbers show that's no longer the case. Been using 6 batts very heavily with only the 1.5ohms dc tanks, only charged with the slim line charger, and tried to avoid deep cycling as much as possible (with only a 60% or so success rate). Only posting the numbers from the shorties for now, still getting my other notes together.

King diamond shorty auto-

Voltage numbers from it's first use:

3.92v (as), 3.87v (9min), 3.84v (18min), 3.80v (27min), 3.72v (36min), stopped there.

Voltage after 150 uses:

3.93v (as), 3.87v (9min), 3.82v (18min), 3.79v (27min), 3.72v (36min), stopped there.

Voltage after 250 uses:

3.91v (as), 3.86v (9min), 3.83v (18min), 3.79v (27min), 3.72v (36min), stopped there.

So far no time change, we did see a little voltage drop on test done after charge 250, but all still within range. It's currently sitting at charge number 286 and still going strong.

King diamond shorty manual VT-

Voltage from first use:

3.98v (as), 3.93v (9 min), 3.88v (18min), 3.85v (27min), 3.82v (36min), 3.73v (45 min), stopped there.

After 150 uses:

3.99v (as), 3.93v (9 min), 3.87v (18min), 3.84v (27min), 3.81v (36min), 3.72v (45 min), stopped there.

After 250 Uses:

3.98v (as), 3.94v (9 min), 3.87v (18min), 3.85v (27min), 3.82v (36min), 3.73v (45 min), stopped there.

After 312 uses finally saw a drop off on this battery:

3.94v (as), 3.88v (9 min), 3.82v (18min), 3.76v (27min), didn't make it to the 36 minute mark.

Getting 300+ charges out of a stick battery using only 1.5ohm dc cartos is simply put, amazing. Up next (hopefully will get them up today, if not some point in the next few days) are the regulars.

This is AWESOME news! :w00t: Frankly, the new manual KDs and VTs are simply awesome!

Non-deep-cycling success rate of 60%, for Morandir of all people. This makes me feel so much less, er, incompetent!:laugh:

Yeah, my non-deep-cycling success rate has really dropped lately. This is mainly due to using tanks + XL manuals, instead of my shorty + regular autos without tanks. No matter how careful I am, I keep deep-cycling them.

I do that too, Katz. For some reason it sneaks up on me. You'd think I would have learned by now!

p.s. Hiya!

:) I kind of wish I were a 1-or-2 juice woman, just for the pure simplicity of it (and being able thereby to always and only use tanks!).

But noooooooo -- with my juice profligacy, every day at my house it's like "Fleet's in!":laugh: And I go around with a bag full of loaded cartos on batteries, all color-coded by carto and drip-tip and such . . . and of course, all the bottles needed to top off said cartos!

I keep my 3 6ml tanks loaded up with particular favorites, and vape them mostly when I'm stretched out on the couch watching the Idiot Box . . . :)

Wow is all I can say!

I am interested that you are using a tank on auto batteries though, I thought that was a no-no.
Although a fan of auto shorties, I've switched to XL manuals to use with tanks.

It's a no-no, but Mr Morandir is surely experenced enough not to drip juice down into his KD autos. (Or perhaps you could apply this to titan autos, which have the same battery life etc, but they are sealed.)

Ah Eleanor, I also remember a time when you were nervous about trying tanks  . We've come a long way

Oh Blue! I've only had one tank leakage, and that's 'cos I ignored the gurgling carto - I didn't think I'd been using it long enough for it to be on its way out.
