Though now that I re-read your comment, I've another question. The vast majority of the videos I've watched on carts favor single-coil over doubles.

But you seem to be saying my Titan is a lower voltage batt and too much "juice" (by which you mean electricity, I presume? or do you mean e-juice?) for that single-coil cart to handle. I'm confused.

I've basically just vaped until my tank gets about 2/3 empty, then refill. So it's not a complete refill. Doing that, I've been getting two+ days, max, out of each cart.

Since the kGo runs at 3.5 volts, are you saying that 2.0 ohm LR SC cart will last even LESS?

Thanks AGAIN!

No you won't actually sir, you'll get even less from a single coil at 3.5v vs 4.2-3.7v. If you go with a kgo suggest going dual coil, you'll still get the battery life you will of a VT king diamond with the single coil, but with the benefits of the higher vapor production and th potential from the dc's along with more longevity from the carto. To get the most out of the single coil cartos in the tanks you want 5v at the minimum...

Too much juice as in e-juice. The carto doesn't burn off the juice fast enough with low voltage.

You don't need a Darwin sir. In fact know someone with one that had the same issues with the single coil carto in the tank with it, because he didn't vape past 10.5w. Under 5v you want to go with the dual coil, 5v go with 2.0 ohm single coils, 6v 3.0 ohm range. Personally suggest just trying one of the three dc cartos they sell for it and find which one you like the most.

Morandir sir.. No body needs a Darwin but... Just kidding!! Great help you give.

Once Morandir made me realize the benefits of the dual coil though all of his post I became a happy vapor!!! For me it changed my whole outlook on hardware and cartos. A ego/ kgo with dual 1.5 coils hits the sweet spot I love. I felt like I had to have a "mod" to be happy with my vaping. Not so for me. I now use my v4l ego ten times more than any of my mods. A Titan xl with a dual coil tank is perfect for me as well.

I'm sold -- and can't wait to order some DC carts. Though I just purchased 10 more 2.0 ohm SCs before I found this thread. They arrived yesterday. Oh, well.

Wish V4L would make all this clear on their site. They don't. At all. I've always liked the company, since the first day I ordered, two and a half years ago, and Steve personally called me to find out my smoking habits before filling my order with 36mg juice.

THIS situation has been disappointing, however, with tanks/carts that I understood would work on the Titan -- but only last two days.

Now that I fully understand what's going on, I can still love my Titans with WOW carts, and try the DC carts with them instead of SCs.

But what's happened, for V4L's info, is that -- since they only had pink eGos in stock -- for the first time since I started ecigs I've ordered hardware from somewhere else. I had to spend a lot of time looking around, looking at videos, looking at various sites, etc., before deciding on the kGo -- and its different tank/cart -- instead of the 6ml tanks and carts from V4L that weren't lasting for me.

Just saying. All that could have been prevented simply by having clear info readily available on V4L's site, like Morandir has provided.

I'm not blindly loyal to brands and companies. And I still love V4L. But I imagine that eventually replacing the Titans and WOW carts will be about as far as I go with them, now. If they'd had the eGo 2 in stock in black, I'd have ordered it -- and STILL been disappointed with the SC carts, only because I didn't know better. As a result of their not posting clear, readily available info, I've discovered LOTS of info, now, and other companies -- and other prices -- for comparison.

Plus, looks like I'm going to save $250 by not getting a Darwin.

:) Hey Robert (or as your avi makes me want to say, "Alfred" :D) --

It's true that none of this rather technical info is posted on the V4L site -- but if you come here (as you eventually did), you will find that our Morandir always tests and posts info on all new hardware as soon as it goes "live" for sale (I think V4L should post a link to Morandir's technical posts, or to his technical blogs where I think he also keeps all this data ready-to-hand).

I'm sorry you had to spend so much time (and $) looking for a "fix"; Morandir really is our resident tech tester and genius and TOTALLY on top of keeping us all informed re the specs of what goes best with what, which combos perform how well, how long, and at what voltage, etc. IOW, drop by here whenever you see something new come on the V4L site -- within days, Morandir will have a thread up about the tech and performance details!

(If I had to guess, I'd guess that V4L doesn't post all that info directly on its site because they want to stay "new vapor" friendly, and don't want to "run off" any noobs with techie info overload! :))

BTW, the Titans rock with both Cool and Wow cartos! :)

It's on their site in the blogs and forum there Lady Eleanor, off the main part for exactly what you stated. :)

Oh good! They need to point the availability of those threads out prominently on the "main" site, though (maybe they already do, I just miss it because I'm already so familiar with the site, I never really "look" at it anymore -- I don't browse, I hunt because I already know exactly what I want to order! :))

A couple of things that you said:
The black charring usually comes from overfilling the carto or filling down the wick tube. If the wick tube gets flooded the juice seems to boil/bake/burn and finds its way into the polyfill. If I find pooling near the top of my carto I typically blow it out instantly. The longer that it is flooded the worse it gets and fast. Often flooding will kill that carto permanently for me. I usually do my primer puffs before I drip to top off to see what kind of reaction I get from the juice in regards to viscosity when filling tanks on fresh cartos. Some juices will fill the carto a lot easier than other as Morandir said due to the amount of vg/sweetener content/pg/flavor mixture.

The longer I vape the more I realize that most cartos are fairly resilient, when I kill them it's usually due to something I did, or long periods of use (days/weeks). Filling is definitely an art especially with tanks as you are not able to utilize the taryn spin on those cartos with the flange without making a mess. Something that I did recently that really helped me was purchasing cartos from another company that were clear tubed dual coils using the same technology as those in the tank systems. In filling them I was able to see how the juice really works and fills and where it fills first. To give you an example most of the DCC's are rated at 30 drops for the tanks, watching those 30 drops go in really helped me to understand what was really going on with the filling process. Granted it will be different on the tank system but seeing when they flood, how they flood, and how to fix the flooding was really helpful in understanding how to get a real good clean vape without wasting a ton of cash doing so.
