I think it's a matter of preference. For me I think CE2 type tanks work better, you can see how much juice you have left and can run them until they are empty. Fillered cartos of that size, like the eGo dual coil carto are cool too, but you still have to keep that filler wet or risk burning them. End result is you're still topping off well before you hit that 5ml mark, plus you can't quite tell how full it still is.

If you love it,use it
I've tried the map tank, homemade tank that uses the ce2,stormtank,they all use the ce2 carto guts.I have come to the conclusion that,
for me,the ce2 don't work. The liquinator tank uses a regular carto and works better IMO.That said,I still prefer a 510 atomiser over any carto that I have tried, your results will most likely be different.More flavor with a atomiser, but no capacity unless its on a bottom feeder
or my budget top feeder

Liquinator cartomizer tanks are my choice.....no fiddling with it like you have with the CE's....no wicking issues, no leaking, no dry hits, no burnt taste.....they just work.......

Just my 2-cents......your choice tho....

My 2-cents is that the CE2's work better. The CE2's that I use came from MyVaporStore. These did not leak until the liquid ate the tubes. That was after a week or more. They never had a dry hit or had any wicking issue. With cartomizers, I could never get a good enough taste from my liquids like I get from CE2's. I will probably try the one with the cartomizer inside someday to see for myself tho.

That is a really good question! Yesterday I received some LR Boge cartos so I took my dremel and reamed out the delrin caps on an old Map Tank, cut two slots in the carto and gave it a whirl. It works great! Now the problem is that each system has its strengths and weaknesses. Here is what I come out with.
E2 Tank.
Strengths:
Thick, rich vapor. (I've never had a problem with wicking as some folks do).
Better flavor (IMO) than any other device, dripping included.
They last forever with a quick cleaning and dry burn.
Efficient. I use a 3.2Ω version and find I get tons of flavor and vapor at 4 volts so my battery last a long time.
Weaknesses:
They leak. It's just a fact that if you lay them on their side or overfill slightly, you will end up with a puddle of juice. Doesn't seem to happen all the time, only when you least expect it to!
It's getting harder and harder to find SS E2's in 3.2Ω that are R5's (fat wicks). R4's and earlier all suck.

Carto Tanks
Strengths:
Very good vapor. Not as good as the E2 but more than acceptable.
Decent flavor. Again, I prefer the E2's.
They don't leak! This may be the clincher. No leakage whatsoever!
Because they don't leak, you can fill them up all the way. Larger capacity.
Everyone has the Boge LR Cartos in stock.
Weaknesses:
It's a pain to cut the slots in the carto. Not a big deal, but a pain.
God these things are loud! With all the snap, crackle and popping, you can be heard vaping from next door!
Now my main problem with these. In the past I have taken these apart after 3-4 refills and have found that the filler, around the coil, always has some burnt marks. Perhaps being submersed in a tank of liquid this will not be the case anymore. I'll know more after I tear apart a used one. This may not be a big deal but I'm not sure how I feel about vaping burnt filler albeit it's only a small amount of burning going on.

So I use the E2 Tanks at home where I stand up my device when not in use and the Carto Tank when I go out!

That's my take on it. Hope it helps.

Hope you do try the carto tanks some day....since you have not tried them, please do and compare them to the CE's(he-he-he).....

I checked out MyVaporStore to see if they stock the E2's I use but unfortunately, they don't. I use the regular (not XL) length E2's in 3.0Ω - 3.2Ω resistance, preferably in SS so I don't have to peel off the sticker and clean them. If anyone knows where I can buy these, please let me know.
Thanks.

Hey Ricks. You know how the E2's work soooooo much better in tanks than by themselves. Well I find that the Boge Carto's work a bit better in tanks too. Not as dramatic a difference but then again, they don't suck as badly as an E2 out of a tank either!

I think the CE2's work the same, in the tube and in the tank.

I just can't see paying out of the rear end for something that cost so little to make.Yeah they have ss end caps.I use a tank I made out of 2 20ml syringes and it does just great.Yeah its a pain to cut the carto's but even with the high dollar tanks that use the carto's you still have to cut. It's no problem to switch from ce2 to carto's just depends on what you want to use that day.Dual coil carto's are better IMHO then the ce2 in a tank.I knock my Riva over all the time and no worry's about leaking unlike the ce2.Just cut 2 slot's in the ce2 clear tube and use it that way in a tank.I works well but still leaks.

The Torpedo Tank, aluminum or SS end caps. Clear Pyrex barrel available soon. JMHO

Cheers,
otrpu
Yup. I have both the original Aluminum and the new SS Torpedo Tanks. They are the best E2 tanks out there for sure.

Wow, something I know absolutely nothing about. Cartos inside a tank? I love my boge cartos, but y'all are speaking greek. I'll have to do some more research as this sounds pretty interesting.

Yes, I love Boge carto's too, thus a Boge in a tank really ROCKS.....stays wet all the time, even more flavor(imagine that)in the tank......my favorite is the 3.0 ohm Boge(in the tank) at 5.1 volts......

And IMO the worst Boge carto is better than the best CE......inside or outside the tank.......
