ok, got it... just polished everything, even negative threads. It came out amazing. i rubbed the mother's on the positive contact for two seconds and it looks like a mirror! Should I sand it or leave it? Let me know if you ever use Mother's Billet Metal Polish, I'd like to see which you think is better

no need to sand it, just polish the contact point and the threads :D

The only I have use is the autosol but it works very good. And if contacts are mirror then no need to sand them because the more shiny they are the best contact they will have Dee!

Super 6 is stainless steel. Stainless steel rarely needs polishing but isn't as electrically conductive as aluminum. GG's are made of aluminum. All aluminum mods need polishing as aluminum oxidizes when exposed to air.

I don't really understand how electrical conduction works but I would think that the battery and the connections to the battery is what makes the different and not what the actual body is made of. Of course I may be wrong.

clean the contacts with autosol because it works exellent with black marks too that current leaves;)

I took your recomendation on the autosol imeo and went and purchased a tube yesterday. :) Thanks.

I'm yet to use it as my GGTS is only 1 week old and still looking very nice. When it needs a polish i'll report back here and let you know how I went.

I use Autosol that is better than the cape cod but I want to try this too. Did you cleaned the threads too Dee?

Let me tell you about pain.

I got me regular (non-high drain) AWs today, to see if Big Storm might go longer than a day without popping a HV atty.

Put my sleeve on, and my sleeve is shiny but the rest is grungy. And I am OUT of polishing cloths... and wont see any until week after next. It's gonna make me crazy.

Any ideas for home remedies in a pinch?

Found this recipe:
Aluminum Cleaner
1/4 cup cream of tartar
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup baking soda
2 tablespoons soap flakes

I use Autosol too....I use autosol for bad tarnish or black marks...but on a daily basis I like Cape Cod Cleaner ...Because its a lot cleaner and faster to do....I like them both....Autosol works great on contact points...

It works good Dee?

Honestly I don't know, I just looked up home remedies online to see what he could use to clean aluminum using household items. I use "mothers billet metal polish" as advised from a friend of mine that details cars. I have found it to be amazing. In ten seconds my TS shines like a mirror. I can see my reflection in my button!

Martha, I will not argue with anyone but you post it here so you need an answer.

This post says: "First, the positive current in the Precise line of mods does NOT flow through the stainless steel". That doesnt mean anything and shows that the man that wrote that post is a little ignorant. What if the positive current flows through the brass thing if the negative goes thougth the steel? The total resistance of a construction is the same with the part that have the bigger resistance, that is steel to our example. Imagine a copper construction and a very small piece of plastic at its end. Current cant go anywhere because of this very small plastic even if copper has the best contactivity after silver!

Anyone can say anything in this world but I will not bother myself again and I dont want to make other comments. Please guys, dont post anything from other forums because I have no time for this. I did it one time with PS and I dont like it at all, its not my type. As you see I sit here on my forum and I dont annoy anyone. If you want to trust me ok, if not its ok again.:)

ps..... sorry, I dont yell to anyone and of course not to Martha. I just dont like this style of childish arguments.

Martha, you should test the voltage at the atty connector of your Super 6 and your GGTS with the same batteries. This might then put this to rest. Until then, I'm not going to believe what a supplier posts on his own forum to prop up his sales and have the evidence weigh in his favour. Some sort of unbiased testing would be needed. Until I see this, I'll believe science in that aluminum is a better conductor of electrical energy than stainless steel. There will be more loss of current with stainless steel in the circuit compared to aluminum.....period.
