Hi everyone !
I'm a noobie who's been e-cigging for a week now. Still got LOADS to learn about it all and I'm enjoying doing so. E-cigs have been brilliant so far...except for one thing....

Is it just me or do others taste the plastic end of the carts ? It's horrible. 8-o

I'm using low/no nicotine carts in 'Like Smoke' and 'Marlborough'. Is it just that, at low nic strengths the taste of these isn't enough to mask the plastic ? Or will it always have the taste, no matter what I vape ?

No-one else seems to mention this...at least I can't find any reference to it. If I've missed it, I apologise.

You shouldn't be tasting burnt plastic in normal use. Possible causes are the cart being too dry, some fibres from the cart sticking up and touching the heating coil, have a look at the end of the carts and see if there are any "hairs" and trim them with sissors.

Occasionally the primer tastes horrible, but that should be long gone, very occasionally you get a duff atomiser that just tastes like this, contact your supplier and get a replacement. This is rare but does happen.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for replying.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. The plastic taste isn't BURNT plastic - it's just plastic.

It tastes bitter (even when I'm not vaping, just got the e-cig in my mouth) and it makes the tip of my tongue sore. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with any part of my 901 or the carts themselves.

Maybe I'm just too sensitive. :(

Be interesting to hear if anyone else finds the same, though.

Ah sorry I misunderstood. It doesn't bother me, I cant taste it but I think others have had this problem, some people have taken to coating it in silicone rubber. BTW if it's so bad that you do this, you have to buy the aquarium silicone, the stuff you get in B&Q is full of fungicide !!!

You didn't say what brand you were using. Janty carts seems to have a problem with the plastic taste. Switch brands and boil out your atomizer. It should clear up.
