I took a single drag off of a cigarette a couple of weeks ago, and absolutely could not stand the taste. I noticed there was less throat hit, less lung hit, and the flavor was like vaping a wet dog turd.

I had to go brush my teeth, use mouthwash, and eat a half pack of altoids to get the taste out of my mouth. I really don't think I could go back to traditional cigs now if I wanted to.

Sounds like a damn good argument for me to hold off trying it:laugh:
love your description!

very new to this but oddly it is working, Had a coworker get me into this new "habit" and while I love it i still smoke like 3-5 analogs a day. Not so bad when I was at about 1.5 packs a day for 15 years.
Being able to vap in nonsmoking hotels is awesome, no more running up and down the stairs on commercials to get a few drags and run back up to the room only to be out of breath, plus I travel a lot and can pack batts, aty's and juice for month in the space of one carton of smokes.
Where i live a carton is ~70 USD so after the initial investment and if i can stop thinking of buying new toys the saving will be huge by the math.
one day at a time and one less smoke at a time.

I swear I'm the only one that hasn't been able to completely give up the cigs. I'm down to 2-5 a day (from 1.5-2 packs a day) but just can't seem to give up the last few....ugh. Even more...they taste like crap but I still smoke them.

I haven't given up yet though...I can wake up in the morning and go all day just fine, but something about 8pm hits me like a ton of bricks...

This is exactly me as well. If the wife didnt have them I probably wouldn't smoke though.

maureengill: You are not alone! There are days that I really don't like myself because I will go and grab a cigarette, go outside and smoke it like there is no tomorrow. It doesn't taste good, I have to go and brush my teeth to get the taste out, if I have too many regular smokes it does a number on my body (I get the runs something fierce), etc. WHY do I keep doing this to myself? I know part of it is stress at the moment, but good grief. I told myself when I began vaping not to put pressure on myself. If I slip, I slip. It usually works, but there have been days that, argggg.

I want so badly to say I no longer smoke cigarettes! I am proud of the fact I have cut way down. Was a 2 pack a day smoker for almost 40 yrs! Now, on good days it's only a couple. On really bad days it can be close to half a pack. (Only had a couple of really bad days).

I'm kind of relieved to hear it's not just me. Granted it's only been a couple days, but the forum is full of the stories of those that pulled their e-cig out of the mailbox and haven't touched a cigarette since. I'm smoking considerably less, but I still feel driven to light that regular cigarette. Right now, my first intake in the morning has to be a "real" cigarette. After dinner, it has to be a "real" cigarette. Periodically through the course of the day, it has to be a "real" cigarette. I've had four already today, which admittedly is a big improvement from the 18 I'd have normally had, and I will admit that the Virginia Slims Ultra Lights 120s that I normally smoke seem to have absolutely no flavor. But it's still an itch that I am compelled to scratch. I haven't given up hope yet, and hope that the itch will progressively lessen.

I spent all last week on my PV and had to go back to analogs on Monday (ran out of juice).

By the third one I noticed it gave me a pretty bad headache.

This was very similar to my experience. I found a half-pack that I didn't know I still had, about 3 weeks in. It tasted (I hate to admit it) delicious to me. At first. I finished the pack because I didn't want the temptation and got sick as a dog. My headache & nausea were unbelievable. Needless to say, but I won't be tempted to have a cigarette anytime soon.

Two weeks and I am already sympathizing with the anti's. Go figure......they do stink to high heaven and make me want to hurl just getting a wiff. Can still smoke an analog, but it aint easy, tends to make me cough and more determined than ever to find the right PV to fit my daily life so I never have to go back. (Assuming the FDA stays off our backs)

if you only smoked cigarettes for 4 months then your brain may not yet be permanently damaged like our long time smokers brains are damaged, i would strongly advise you to stay away/avoid nicotine in any form to avoid becoming nicotine freak / werewolf ( ie: controlled by un-natural self-destructive forces) like us, it is really not fun to be controlled by these forces

I got half a drag two days ago from a fellow smoker. Is it just me?? It literally sent me high for ten seconds or so, then hyper-sober sensation for a moment, then I was back listening what he was talking about. What the hell? It's not just nicotine I tell you. I felt the oily taste on my tongue till the end of the day. I guess I'll stick to vaping ;)

My wife and I went out of town to a barbecue last weekend, about a 3-hour drive from home. I was in such a hurry, about 30 minutes into my drive there, I realized I forgot my eGo.
RadicalJD

RadicalJD, You've got more patience than I do! The second I realized I forgot my eGo, I'd been going back to get it...no matter what, or who said what. :D
