So I was adding sweetener to a recipe, wasn't wearing gloves because that's all I was doing. I got some on my hands and also some key lime, it smelled so good so I decided to taste it. Not the vapor, I mean what was on my fingers. It tasted pretty good but it was a bit TOO sweet, to my surprise.

I put 2 drops in the 10ml recipe, shook it up and put some in an igo l to test... and it tasted bitter?? So I decided I must not have used enough and put another .05ml in. Now it tasted reallly bitter. I was tempted to keep adding more but I stopped at this point. I tried a different flavor that has no sweetener in it, and that now tasted bitter too. Then I tried what was in my kayfun, bitter too.

So is that normal? Hoping it's just vapers tongue and not anything else.

Edit: Went away in an hour. Lesson learned: don't put concentrated sweeteners on your tongue if you don't want your taste buds taking a rest for a bit.

I think my taste buds are pretty shot, because I can barely taste things that other people think taste strong. And I like a sweet juice, so I tried EM. Not bad,but after a few hours I had to switch flavors because I couldn't taste it anymore. So, I tried liquid Stevia from One Stop DIY. Love it! Finally, I get a sweet juice I can vape all day without losing flavor.

I agree with Danny... let it steep and see if that helps. If not, try switching what sweetener you use.

To much sweetener or EM will mute flavor and will mute taste. I recommend no more then .5%.EM and .5 -1% sweetener. Don't add either until you've tasted then steeped the mix. You will likely find after steeping that you don't need to add either.
Yeah I try to avoid using it at all because I don't like really sweet juices but this recipe needed it.
