First off, let me say that I bloody LOVE the Tatroe Tank! Well, at least I do now.
I've had it for about a week and have vaped 7 or 8 tanks through it.

When I first got it, I gave it a good washing and loaded it up and vaped it like I stole it. It hit pretty much exactly like a Kanger Protank. duh! Just ever so slightly a tighter draw and just a tiny bit quieter. Basically, a bullet proof ProTank.

Now remember when I said I gave it a "good washing".... Yeah, well, now I know what vaping cutting oil tastes like. 8-o
I was ready to throw the thing & realized that it would break whatever it hit while not taking any damage itself. Sooo....
I gave it 3 soap & water washings, 2 vinegar soaks & 1 alcohol bath. THEN I boiled it in distilled water for 15 minutes. If that sounds extreme, vape cutting just once & you'll change your mind reeeeal fast! LOL! (NO don't vape cutting oil! It's toxic and you don't want to go there)
While I was doing all this washing, spitting, soaking, spitting, and boiling, brushing teeth again, I threw in some of my rebuildable attys. (Big difference!)

Anyway...
When you get yours (don't try to be coy, you'll get one) make sure to wash it like you're trying to get the stink off a skunk. I'm not kidding! ;)
And a white vinegar soak does wonders!

We all know that it uses the ProTank base & coil & your own drip tip... so no need to go through all that stuf.... humm, guess I just did! Never mind!
A few things I've noticed are..
1: It doesn't seem to flood as easily as the ProTank, I'm guessing because of the tighter tolerances of the center tube.
2: It's a lot harder to shove a Qtip through the center tube, because of ^^^^^ (what he said)
3: I have found that whatever mod I have it on, I seem to always pick it up by the tank and not the mod. The hour glass shape and solid SS construction just begs to be picked up that way.
4: It's heavy. Don't put this thing on a SS Vamo! You might get busted for carrying a lethal weapon! :p
ooo!... there you go! A vaping self-defense weapon!!

I've seen many folks say they don't like being unable to see the level of juice in the tank. I was, admittedly, among that crowd. (sad but true)
What I've found is, that the first dry hit you get means the tank is empty. And I MEAN empty! I've never managed to get a ProTank that dry!
Now if you're rather new to vaping, like me, this could be a problem & you could run out of juice while chasing down the mailman to get your vape mail.
But, you should be carrying enough vaping gear & juice to last at least 3 months every where you go, so an empty tank is no biggie.

All silliness aside...
The Tatroe Tank is a very well crafted and designed tank. Just like all delivery devices, it has its quarks that take a little getting used to.
So if you like the Kanger ProTank, you will most likely love the Tatroe Tank!

I have the ribbed one coming. Can't wait to get it! I emailed Cigtechs and asked if I needed to wash and soak it. This was their response:

It may have some smell to it , but all the tanks are cut without coolant so there isnt as much of a taste .we have found about after 2 days or so any taste should be gone.

I'm gonna wash it in soap and hot water and let it dry but probably won't soak it. It's gonna look good on my SVD when it comes in :D

Thanks for the great review! I agree about not seeing the liquid. I bet if I get one I'll be randomly opening it up and looking down in it to make sure there is still juice lol.

Thanks for reading it! :)
I opened to check a couple times, but after the first tank went dry, it was pretty easy to tell from then on. It stays on my desk 99.9% of the time anyway.

I keep my gun oil in the same style bottle's as my DIY juice...I dind't vape it, but I did have a tank filled with gun oil. lol.

LOL! Reloading equipment really does need a separate place/room. Might get a wild idea & try to fire form a carto. hehehe!

That blue looks very nice, it would look great on a blue Provari - finally, a reason for someone to order a blue Provari!

I have two Protanks, and still use them even though I own a Kayfun 3.1 ES and an eBaron Dripper Pro. They hit pretty hard. The only issue I've had - and it is a Protank issue, not a a Tatroe issue - is the spitting and flooding. I posted a possible solution in two parts, one a full coil rebuild, and a rebuild-lite, which just involves adding a bit of wick to the well around the coil insert: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/433619-kanger-protank-flooding-possible-fix.html

I just got the smooth, silver Tatroe tank. I've only been vaping from it for a couple of hours and so far so good. As Wizzlefits mentioned, the draw is tighter than it is on a stock protank. So, this may be a viable option for those that hate the Protank's airy draw. Here's a quick photo of it on my Provari mini:

It seems most things vape relate are subjective. I did notice that the draw loosened up a bit when I put a different drip tip on it. For me that is actually a good thing since I prefer an airy draw. I bought it as a durable alternative to a glass tank. In that regard, it definitely serves its' purpose.
