There's been some recent developments in cart filler materials. Tea bags made of hemp (I use nylon gossamer tea bags with great results, personally), coffee filters, etc.

Since Nylon melts at 350+ F and Polyester melts at 255+ F, I figured it was a smart choice. You heard it here first :p

Someone else came up with using tea bags in general, but I came up with using rolled strips of nylon gossamer. For one, wicking is out of this world, durable, doesn't melt when touching a really hot atomizer bridge like polyester and washable/reusable. Holds the juice without trying to keep it.

I have been using these the past week or so and they work great, they don't seem to wear out.

Can I just use some regular nylons like you put on your legs? I could fill a lot of carts with the queen size.

Is this for the purpose of having a larger filler to get more vapor? Please tell me.

The only reason for using Tea bags or Coffee filters is to get away from having any chance of Polyester fibres getting melted on the coil and vaping the fumes from plastic. I sometimes used to get a horrible burn't 'plastic' taste which was almost impossible to get rid of from an atomizer once it had started, I felt sure it was polyester fibres getting onto the coil and I haven't had it at all since using tea bags or coffee filter paper, so I feel happy...... but some people say they never get that plastic taste anyway so they just carry on using the normal cart material or else use the fluval which is almost the same thing.

That's a ditto for me too.
Plus I think it now it's more consistent when using filters, and you can't beat the price.;)

This.
I picked up some of the Lipton Pyramid Tea today just to try this. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Thank you!

I wasn't super pleased with regular tea bags, they seemed to "hold" the juice more. Coffee filters (bleached, it's all I had in the house) worked better, but nothing beats the Lipton Pyramid tea bags. The draw is unbeatable, and I used the same amount of juice filling it that I did a regular tea bag or coffee filter.

I like the tea bag a lot better. I don't feel like I have to top it off as often (or I DIDN'T until I got my 510 haha.) I think it's pretty easy and fairly cheap. I just don't like it when the polyfill gets stuck to the atomizer, it tastes like sh** and overall just can't be GOOD.

I use lipton teabags. I DO feel like they hold liquid in them though, that cannot be used, but then, so does the polyfill. I just roll them up loosely and make sure they can fit in my 510 cart. It's fairly easy really, and I can get four fillers out of one tea bag. I change it every couple of days.

When I was using the tea bag for my 901 cart, I never got liquid in my mouth anymore either, so that was a perk.

Jeez...it's...it's a fine, fine mesh. Almost what a bridal veil might be made of, but even finer. Fine enough that I'd almost classify it as pixels.

I think what you are talking about is tulle. It is extremely fine and is often used to hold wedding favors and also for wedding decoration. It can be bought in fabric stores, at Michaels, and, sometimes in craft departments. For fabric stores and Michaels, go to (or ask for) the wedding section. It comes cut into circles and also in bolts.

Our son is getting married this Saturday, and we are sure to have some of the tulle left over, so I will try vaping with it next week.

OMG... I think I have rolls of Ribbon made of this stuff (sheer, has some body to it, NOT talking about a regular ribbon though).

*Double Head Smack*

Now I have to rummage through my craft stuff (and that room is a disaster area). I'll post back if I find that it works, and what brand it is! Ugh, and IF I can find it... LOL. BTW, nylon gossamer ribbon width would probably be close to the perfect height in cart size!

First off... you do not want this:
Tulle6663.jpg

(Tulle netting)

You want Organza, which looks like this:
Image.ashx

You don't have to get ribbon, but the Organza ribbon is perfect and a roll of ribbon is cheap. Probably best to buy white, so you aren't dealing with dyes. This also comes in bolts at a fabric store, and you could get 1/4 yard.

This stuff is exactly what the Lipton gossamer teabags are. Nice find Bizzy and Kenb.

What I found in the craft stash were 2 kinds of organza ribbon for testing.

First is labeled 100% Nylon, from Michaels, Special Value (the cheap stuff) 5/8", 15FT roll, no idea what I paid for it, probably $2. It has a more ribbon like texture at the top/bottom with the sheer in the center. I just left it on, figured it would just suck up a bit more liquid. I cut about 1-1/2 inches of length and ....... accordion folded (stuffed) it into my little 510 cart using a toothpick to help get it down in, but not too tight. Tucked down the cut off end end back into the cartridge. Loaded up with liquid and have been smokin on it for about 30 minutes. No leak, no mouthful of liquid. Seems to be holding plenty of liquid. Rolling seems to be a pain for a really small cart. Maybe I'll try again...

Then I used the same stuff above for a larger cart (DSE801 penstyle). I accordion stuffed it in, filled it up and got a huge amount of liquid in my mouth. Nasty. Suctioned some out of the cart with the glass dropper, and it seems to be fine now but gets lots of liquid on the side of the cart (cart sweat) which these do anyway... probably not optimal for a larger cart to stuff it in, or maybe I need to do it better (more/less). Smokes fine though and probably would be better without the thicker woven edges and just the
Organza ribbon.

The other ribbon I tried, (Michaels 3 yards, $3.99, also 100% Nylon, #9 32mm or 1-1/4") has tiny copper wires in the top and bottom of the ribbon. I cut about 6"-8" (more/less) and left wire in it. I rolled it around a toothpick and put the roll in my DSE801 cart. The wire left at the bottom keeps the roll nicely tight. I trimmed off the top to cut to length by pulling it up just a tad (the wire at the top is gone then) pushed it back down in the cart and fanned it out a bit. Took plenty of liquid in to fill it (but I was careful to not overfill like the last mouth full since now I have a stomach ache! Bleh:p) It is working like a champ. Waited about an hour, took it out and no dye bleeding. Still would rather use white.

So! Looks like you don't have to pay for tea you aren't going to use. Buy Organza and look to check the fabric content for either Polyester or Nylon listed on the roll. I'm sure Walmart has it as well as a bazillion fabric/craft stores.

I can see the guys now - shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other while standing in the ribbon isle or in front of bolts of fabric and scratching their heads... giving up and telling the fabric lady they want Organza in white... LOL!

If you decide to use this, please give a report too since I've only got about an hour use total in on this!!
Vape on!!
