i have been using a vision spinner with T3s tank . i am very interested in the K100. i am needing something more. the spinner is not cutting it. i guess i could get a better tank. pro tank or pro tank two . i like the look of the K100 can someone fill me in about the k100 and tanks or cartomizer . i am little scared of mechs after seeing the photo with the guys hand blown up. i seen something called a "kick" for the k100 would that make it safer ? short circuit protector (whatever you call it lol ) . maybe i am a little lost on the spinner and T3s tanks 2.2 ohm . i am a cloud chaser ? i need big deep hits and i am not getting them. then i go for the analogs. would a burnt coil or a set up burning to hot give me a kind of dry/burning throat . i have been vaping for 6 months with many ups and downs i haven't been able to put the analogs down totally .

I've been there, the spinners didn't do it for me either, and the Protank didn't cut it either in the long run, however, if you are thinking of going the mech route please read up on how to safely operate it, know what batteries to use in it, and how to build whatever atty you are wanting to use on it. You can use a carto-tank ya know.

Mechs are not for everyone, and not the only solution for spinner dysphoria. An MVP 2 with a Nautilus or Kayfun would be a very good intermediate step. If you get into mechs you are heading into rebuilding territory. I started that a year ago, and it's worked out very well for me, but it's just not for everyone. Lots of people just want to put in the juice and vape, and screw in a new coil when it's time. They don't want to get into the learning curve of rebuilding or buy what they need to operate a mech and RBA safely.

Whether you go the rebuilding route or not is your call, but if you go there, PLEASE do your homework and have the right batteries and equipment to do it safely. Bad things can happen if it's done wrong.

I'm actually shocked that anyone is still using any kind of EGO device at all. Just scary really.

Yeah, I hear that, but they sell a bunch of them, and it's all a lot of people really want. Just about everyone starts with an ego rig of some kind, and all the B&M's are pretty much set up for beginners. I see people vaping around here, and just about all of them are using ego rigs. It's really rare to see anyone with a mod around here, and I've yet to see another vaper here in the wild with a mech and RBA.

Mechs are pretty safe and to me, they are like that zippo lighter I carried for so long. You'll get a ton of good advice here on safety. I don't care for the k100 personally. You do get batteries and a charger but I don't think they are of the quality anyone would recommend for a mech. It is a pretty good deal though to start out but I can almost garuntee it will be tossed in a junk drawer within a month when you find something you like better. Good luck!

Really don't want to get into rebuilding. I don't have the time really.
If you are not interested in rebuilding then a mechanical mod is not the way to go.

+1 on the MVP

1. huge (2600 mah) battery
2. variable voltage/wattage
3. ability to vape while charging
4. $40 shipped at many online store

I do not understand this statement at all. For so many folks it is the perfect set-up. It does exactly what it was designed to do. It replaces the need for both our hand to mouth motions and gives us some of what our smokes gave us. For a LOT of us it is ALL that is needed. I am actually shocked that someone finds the concept of any kind of ego device scary.

It will soon be 3 years for me and my ego devices are all I want or need.

and for the OP, I do agree with others that the MVP is a nice step up. I do have one and like it but it is a back up for me. I personally prefer my Vision spinners. YMMV

OP, I have a K100, it was my first and I still use it and like it alot for a tube and battery. I own several mechs that I bought back when I first started going advanced.

Start where I did and you don't have to worry because you'll have the knowledge that you need to drip safely. Baditude blog has the information you need to be safe.

All that being said Prometheus has an excellent point. The are so many regulated mods out there now that can go 30 to 50 watts that you can have your cake and eat it too. I picked up a IPV 50W and use it all the time dripping. This mod in my opinion has one major flaw, no rubber gasket for the back panel. If your dripper leaks it can get behind the panel. There are a ton of choices out there, go regulated and have some flexibility.

I was there myself, not long ago, and here's what met my needs - I love big clouds, and at the time didn't want to bother with RBAs. The T3S tanks were my most recent step up, along with this (skip 1.5min in) itaste v3 and an i16 or protank 2, and love the batt to this day. Over time I moved on to using the iclear30s and just got my first Kanger lite RBA.

Before that, I was a solid ego user. But just for fun, and to introduce myself to 'mech world' I did buy one little mod. (Side note, I learned to buy attys that were lower ohms for the battery's power output, seemed to work best for me at least.)

I had looked it up, it was well rated, insulated, etc. Here it is, in a short youtube review: E-pipe mod

I'm sorry I couldn't add to the k100 discussion, but I hope my path through the world of vaping helps you out!
Cheers!
