I am alone in this bunch it seems, but I've been using them for a month heavily without problems. I do have one that was starting to get wimpy, but I cleaned it and we'll see if it is still good.

thank you, lol it is good to hear that it isn't all bad. For me the ease of filling and cleaning seems ideal, oh plus the increase in flavour :)

Never had a dry hit at 3.7v with these. I don't get why people think they need longer wicks... simple physics involved here. Capillary action, the wick is way thicker than CE2's so it needs to be shorter. By touching the walls, is always stay wet by capillary action unless you stand it up all the time (so you can knock it over easily ) I don't get what the big deal is that you may have to tilt it once in a while to keep it wet: afraid of carpal tunnel? :glare: They are not perfect, but what is? MAP tanks are great, but filling is their drawback, small as that is some may hate it, yet I can live with both and love them both.

Love/hate.... love the look and convenience... hate the inconsistency, hate how quickly it gunks up and tastes like burnt crap. Just retired my 3rd one and went back to 3 hole, single coil cartos in tanks. Got the fullsize chrome tank on my LT, a slim tank with a shorty drip tip in my EVO and slim with the flange (thread cover) on a eGo battery for taking to the bars.

Still occasionally use the vision clearomizers but they actually are a little touchy sometimes as well.

The plastic cracking at the base is easily solved.

  1. Get a bottle of Ambroid. Ambroid is a plastic solvent that, in effect, welds shut the cracks. The bottle came with a built-in application brush. I got mine at a hobby shop for about six bucks. That bottle has enough Ambroid in it to baste Stardust cracks until I'm about 347 years old.
  2. Use your favorite method to clean the Stardust (mine is using 91% isopropyl alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner).
  3. Let dry completely.
  4. When the Stardust is totally dry, baste the cracks with Ambroid.
  5. Let dry completely. I let my repaired Stardusts sit for several hours, but that may be overkill.
  6. Dry-burn the gradoo off the coil, fill with e-liquid and vape away.
When you baste the cracks, baste a couple of millimeters above the crack just to be sure. The Ambroid melts the plastic and literally welds together the sides of the crack. There's no noxious residue from the Ambroid: once it evaporates, it's 100% gone into the air. The welded plastic dries clear.

I've found that Ambroided cracks don't subsequently lengthen. And after several repair sessions with the Ambroid, the pressure on the plastic is relieved and the tank won't develop any new cracks.

I love mine. The only problem is that they all cracked. Now that mostly classics posted a solution to that problem, they're pretty much the best carto/clearo on the market right now, IMO. I don't have a lot of disposable income, so I like how rebuildable they are.

Just to clarify, before I end up buying the wrong thing and poisoning myself, is this the correct kind of ambroid:

That's a lot of time into a device... I prefer my method. Use for a week, stop using it, go back to devices that work more consistently with minimal maintenance.

Sorry but there are too many good devices out there to spend so much time on something that works sometimes. Maybe I'll try version 2.

All told, I may spend as much as a minute per Stardust cleaning and repairing. If I had a whole bunch, I could batch process them and get that time down to maybe 30 seconds per Stardust. It takes a lot longer to describe the process than it does to perform it.

That's the stuff, odiedodie! Sorry about misspelling "Ambroid." I've edited the post to correct my misspelling.

i get dry hits with these. it might not be helped by longer wicks but for me, these are finicky...and yes, every once in a while you HAVE TO tilt these upside down to re-wet the wicks.

the little filler taste i get from a carto is much more pleasant than a dry hit from a stardust.

Yet another interesting read.... I too seem to be a minority on this thread. I love these Vision Clearos so far.

I tried the single coil prepunched carts in tank setups at ummmm.. 1.7 V. They just refused to wick and I tried slotting and punching more holes.... still no good. Did the same thing with dual coils at 1.5 ohm.... they either flooded or just wouldnt wick. The CE2's clearos that I tried all delivered the flavor and vape, but it came with a very noticable plastic taste.

The 2.4 - 2.6 ohn Vision Clearomizer have performed great on my Riva 1100 mah and the Ego VV. On the Riva its a slightly tighter draw since the vision skirt lines up perfectly with battery. A 1/4 turn in the reverse direction solves that. The draw on the Ego VV is better since the skirt of the vision is slightly larger then the VV Ego. Both deliver 4.0 to 4.2 volts fully charged so I find the vape to be the same on both batts.. I havent tried the lower rezz versions yet but I have them coming. I have rebuilt several of the Visions and managed to get the ohms around 2.0 and they hit even better so Im sure these lower rezz versions will deliver as well. I also put loger wicks in when I rebuilt them just to see if that made a difference. But I have never had a lame dry hit from a vision so it was more of an experiment then anything else. Just lay it down between vapes !... lol I have yet to see one with a crack in it so I must be the lucky one.

Of the 12 Visions that I have I will say I have a few that seemed to be a much cooler vape and didnt produce as much. So i bought a multimeter and sure enough, those 3 were registering 3.0 ohms or greater. So i slapped them on my Lavatube with a small extension thinking 4.6 or 5v would do the trick..... NOPE.... too airy for my taste

I also have some of the new ViVi Novas coming that have long wicks and so on...... we'll see how that works out.

My wife uses these religiously on her eGo batteries. I've got both an eGo adapter and a 510 extension coming as well as a couple of these bad boys in LR (2.1 Ohm) to try out on my Silver Bullet with a Kick. So far, she has had no cracking issues and has been using one Stardust for almost a month now. I do vape a LOT more than she does, so I'll put them through a more sever test than she has. When I know more, I'll check back in. My current issue is flooding my cartomizers. I apparently have issues with how I'm drawing from the cartos, but I'm working on it. Lol

I was stoked when I bought my first one, but my enthusiasm quickly died out after two days. I've never experienced such a dry hit before. It literally felt like I was vaping a tank of friggin' BEES!! My discomfort was so bad, I actually went back to analogs for about a day until I went up to my local smoke shop and picked up some Boge LR's. I was initially put off by cartomizers because, somehow, I ended up burning the first two I tried within minutes of filling them. I couldn't understand why, because I used the condom method that so many others do! I only realized later that I just wasn't letting the juice sit long enough...I'd fill them and try to use them right away. Simple fix!! Now I'm hooked on the cartos. No more burning-throat sensation and the flavor is HUGE! I will most likely end up throwing away my used Stardusts. Just my thoughts, though.
