I am a child of the 60's and early 70's. My favorites are the Beatles of course, the Stones and most of the 60's noise!
I used to love concerts but now..I hate the wait for the bathroom!

I saw Led Zeppelin at the Tampa Stadium in 1973, followed a month later by Pink Floyd. Then a few months later, the allman brothers.I saw Seals and Crofts (Diamond girl), Meatloaf, the Monkee's, Jay and the Americans, and the original Diamonds (from the 50's) and many more in Tampa.

I was a guard at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo and got to see Kenny Rogers, Roy Rogers/ Dale Evens, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and the whole Carter family including June. I also got to see the great Marty Robbins.
What are your concert memories?

Concerts in the early 70's were the big thing !! I went to a ton of them !! Geez ...Grand Funk, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Rare Earth, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, ZZ top, 3 Dog Night...I can't even remember half of them...(oops !).....probably part of the reason I have such messed up hearing !!!

Classwife......I saw a couple you did...... Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull; my brother took me to those. Utopia/Todd Rundgren, saw them at least 8 times back then (fancied myself a groupie then but not really!), saw T.R. twice in the past two years. Yes, Doobie Brothers, ELO, Rolling Stones a few times, The Ramones, The Cars, The Sex Pistols, The Pretenders (older concerts and a year or so ago, they still rock), Red Hot Chili Peppers---so many I can't remember. I saw Heart about a year ago and they were just like twenty years ago! My favorite more recent concert was Rodrigo y Gabriela, at a small venue in Chicago. I love those old, small theaters!

I missed all this stuff. My mother would not allow me to go to concerts, I asked one time to go see a famous ballet dancer and she wouldn't even allow that. One time a friend had tickets for Bruce Sprinsteen, since I knew the answer would be no I told her I needed to do work at the library and went. It was so cool, I still remember that night. He is such a great story teller. I even named my new guitar Boss. The only problem that night was I had to leave early so I wouldn't get caught.

After I left the house I did go to a Dead Head concert, but that was more like time travel than seeing a concert, it was just very strange. I felt like I was the only sober person left in the 60's. ( this was in the late 80's very early 90's, but everyone there was still living in the 60's)

I'm a child of the 70's (HS grad '75) Every friday night I'd watch Wolfman Jack hosting Friday Night Special? Saw alot of acts on that show but my all time favorite was Three Dog Night. About 10 years ago we had an auto mall open just a few blocks from out house and lo and behold, the Three Dog Night gave a mini concert!! They were sooooo good and it was free lol

I like most all kinds of music oldies, 80's rock, country. But absolutely NO rap or elevator music!!!

Ah Fudgey you haven't been in an elevator lately have you. Our 80's music is now elevator music. It's scarry when you start to like the music they are playing in the elevators and recognize the songs.
