So jealous here!!!
Holy cow - me too!

The first "concert" that I can really remember is seeing "Kenny Rogers and The First Edition" at the Ohio State Fair back when he was introducing "Ruby - Don't Take Your Love to Town". I stood right below his boots and got a crick in my neck looking up at him.

In high school I'd sneak off of the school grounds to take in a smoke. My nicotine jones often coincided with those of Dwight Yoakum. He was soooo shy! I was never into country, so I didn't even know he'd made it big until about fifteen years ago.

Fresh out of high school I'd hang out at The Sugar Shack in the Ohio State University campus area where Blue Oyster Cult played almost every night. They would often join our group for drinks.

One particulary memorable concert (and I didn't go to many) was Elton John when he was introducing "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". What a showman!! The opening act before Elton came on was an unknown group named Aerosmith. They were introducing "Dream On".

The only other concerts that I can remember were Phil Collins (awesome musician!) when he brought out "No Jacket Required" and The Moody Blues in their twilight. Moody Blues in their final performances were still amazing.

LOL I feel kind of pathetic reading everyone's great stories. I've only been to 1 'rock' concert my whole life, when I was ten. My grandmother paid for my aunt and me to go. My aunt got to pick, she was a teenager. We ended up seeing New Kids on the Block. The next day they were banned from performing in Shreveport ever again because one of the band members was caught dealing drugs to minors after the show.

Throughout the early to mid 70's I used to go to a concert about once a week in San Francisco. We would see most shows at Winterland, which sadly has been torn down since. I have seen so many bands It would take too long to list them. A few notables would be Emerson , Lake, and Palmer, ZZ Top (before they had their beards), Ten Yaers After with Alvin Lee, Manfred Manns Earth Band, Black Sabbath, The Stones, Golden Earring, Yes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lee Micheals, George Clinton with Parliment, Rare Earth, Leon Russell, my mind is starting to fogg up now, but there were many more. I have stopped going the shows, nowadays they are too commercialized. No spontoneity (sp) at all. They have the shows times out to the minute, no deviations and no surprises. Back in the day I've seen bands come back out for 5 and 6 encores, playing for 3 and 4 hours plus. Those were real shows. Great (semi) memories. Ha Ha.

Hi all, my first time here, and what a great topic!
Led Zeppelin. I was thaaaat close. I had tickets, $10 a head to go in 1975 when Robert Plant got into the terrible auto accident and the tour was cancelled.

I was a rock DJ for a while in my younger days and got to meet the members of Motley Crue and Molly Hatchet, and Carmen Appice, who was doing a guest appearance with Ozzie Osbourne for a concert. I didn't get to meet Ozzie. I was working at a smaller, lil sister radio station of the larger WRNO in NOLA, so we did manage to get some good tickets, but very rarely backstage passes.

Elton John with Aerosmith opening for him: When I saw him in the mid 70's, The Captain and Tenille opened for him, lol. What a difference in opening acts.

BWG707 Ten Years After!!! OMG I don't think I've heard that name in 30 years! You my friend have been to some eclectic concerts. ELP was always a favorite of mine.

Now that I'm older I'm into country somewhat. I like Miranda Lambert, but had to miss her last month in concert. Here in Baton Rouge we have the Country Music Fest every year which brings in the very top names, and it's really good. I did get to go to that year before last.
