hello all, I am new here and been vaping for a bit now and would like to fully grasp RDAs and dripping.

the only thing i'm having trouble grasping with RDAs and such is why some coil builds have different ohms when they seem similar to other builds, for example when setup (a) A duel coil with like 8 or so wraps is say .5 ohms and looks the same or vary similar to setup (b) that has duel coil and 1.5 ohms? I understand ohms to some degree, the lower the number the less resistance and higher is more. so where does the difference in ohms come from? the diameter of the coil, how many wraps, or the rda? or a combo of all 3? any info to help me wrap my head around this would be greatly appreciated. i really hope i asked that question in a way that's easy to answer. (willing to re-word )

Some of the things that affect the resistance of a coil:

Gauge of wire (24gauge lower reistance than 30 gauge)
Type of wire (Kanthal vs something like Ni200)
Type of coil (Single, Dual, Parallel, etc)
Diameter of coil (1/32" nano coil vs 3/32 macro coil)

Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

Steam Engine is a good calculator for finding out a baseline for how many wraps you need on your coils, over a given wrapping size (ie 3/32 drill bit) on any given gauge/type of wire.
