I've just started playing around with temperature control.

My current setup consists of a VaporShark dna 200, praxis Vapors Derringer, and a 28g Ni200 spaced coil with 2.5mm inner diameter at approximately 0.13 ohms.

I have configured the mod to use Ni200 mode, set the temperature to 500F, and set the power to 35W. I've also locked the ohms.

Still, the vape seems weak. It's not as warm as I would imaging 500F to be.

Does this sound normal?

All watts really do in TC mode is control initial ramp up speed, once TC kicks in it pulse width modulates the wattage to maintain temperature. A lot of people find that yes in TC mode the vapor can be weaker than they are used to, especially those at the higher wattage scale all day vapors especially despise TC because it not hot scalding steam they like. I happen to be at the cooler end of vaping, rarely am I over 100watts, in TC mode I run about 50watts if I can set it or whatever the mod defaults to, then in the 400 to 450F TC range on my RDAs if I use a TC build in an RDA. Most my TC builds are on tanks set at about 20watts max and 350 to 400F TC and enjoy the benefits of not forming formaldihydes and such.

I have five temperature control mods and to be honest I am back to watts. Yes it is a weaker vape. I do not even use TC anymore. Perhaps if I ever decide to use my drippers I may use it for the fact it will shut down when wick starts to dry out. But I do not even keep my drippers at the house anymore as they are on display in my local vape store along with all my old retired vape stuff. I tried it, don't like it, back to where I began. CHEERS!
