Strange how the brain works. I noticed my old friend, my old brass Zippo, sitting on my dresser today. Suddenly i flashed back to clicking it open and firing up a ciggie and taking a big inhale. I've not even thought about having a cigarette for over two and one half years. Out of nowhere that feeling came. It did pass fast though and the thought of lighting up is almost repulsive now.

I've known people who've quit for 30 or 40 years and they say they'll still get an odd craving every now and then. Once an addict, always an addict...

Very interestingly, it's true. My dad's quit about 15 years ago, and when I'd smoke in the car with him, he'd ask me to close all the windows so he can bake in all that. I was the same when I'd try to quit smoking.

On the other hand, since I started vaping, I have very little cravings, to the point of seriously disliking the smell of cigarette smoke.
