Ever since I began to vape in March of this year I have not smoked a single real cigarette, so I have no clue how satisfying it would be if I were to smoke one now.

The only reason I am curious to try this is because I'm beginning to wonder if I'm consuming more Nicotine now since I started vaping than I did when I was smoking. The only way to find out would be to smoke one of the same cigarettes I used to smoke.

When I first started vaping, I was vaping 24mg Nicotine, using the basic clearos and ego batteries. I'm assuming most of those clearomizers were around 2.0 to 2.5 ohms. When I got into my first RBAs I dropped the nic level to 12mg because I was building coils in the 0.9 to 1.2 ohm range. Now days I make my coils anywhere from 0.3 to 0.8 ohms depending on what RBA I'm using and I mostly shop for 8mg Nicotine. I know that 8mg of Nicotine is way too much for a 0.3 ohm build, but I do not vape like a cloud chaser would. I'm not taking 5 to 6 second draws on it in attempts to fog out the room. When I take a hit on my mod I always like to pull on it just as if I were pulling on a real cigarette. I like short mouth to lung hits that produces a decent amount of vapor.

That being said. Sometimes I still wonder if I'm consuming more Nicotine now than i was when I was just smoking.

No; you may be *vaping* more nicotine, but it's not absorbed nearly as efficiently as nicotine from smoke; of all the nicotine you vaporize, you're probably getting less than 50% of it absorbed into your body, maybe *considerably* less, depending on the vape hardware you use.

If you smoke a cigarette now, you'll find out one of two things: it will either taste like total crap, and you'll RACE to vape to get that rancid taste out of your mouth... or, far worse, you find that it tastes awesome and it will make sticking to vaping twice as hard.

It's probably just your cigarette addiction trying to give you a reason to rationalize smoking a cigarette.

I have smoked 6, or so cigarettes in the past 18 or so months. The last one was in July, mainly because a girlfriend was smoking one and asked me if I wanted to try it. I got nothing out of it. Basically just air, but gave me a heavy feeling in the chest. It was a Marlboro light. I took a vape right after and realized my e-liquid is far stronger than any cigarette could ever be. Not sure if it is the flavor, nicotine or saturated flavor...

From every post I've read regarding this. . . it wouldn't satisfy at all. I still remember how bad the last cigarette I tasted. Just the smell from my friends is enough for me to keep on happily vaping. If you try it, tell us about it. Inquiring minds. . .

To AndriaD . I am not even thinking about going back to cigarettes. That would never happen. I love vaping too much.:)

The only reason I am even concerned with the Nicotine levels I'm consuming is because I recently discovered that I have two genetic mutations that make me very likely to develop DVTs aka blood clots. A DVT in my leg was the reason I stopped smoking to begin with. Only to find out that it wasn't the actual smoking that could have caused the clot but it was most likely the Nicotine.

I'm just thinking if I were to smoke a real cigarette I could figure out if I was consuming too much Nicotine from vaping. If I smoke a real cig and feel absolutely nothing then that would probably mean I'm getting too much Nicotine from vaping.

Last year I quit smoking for 9 months and I never thought I would EVER go back to smoking. I had one to test it out and I went back to smoking. This time around, I had a smoke last Tuesday when I was having a really bad day and I smoke the first one feverishly out of the package and I thought I'd go back again but then I realized that they tasted like crap and I knew then that vaping was the way for me. I haven't had a craving for a real ciggy since. The smell was awful and the hit on the throat was not pleasant either.

I wouldn't worry about how much nicotine you used to smoke... I'd just worry about slowly lowering your nicotine down to the minimum levels. Sounds like that's really what will benefit your condition the most.

Plus, that one cigarette might be the one that sucks you back in. I wanted one for the last 2 days, after 2 and a half months on the vapes... but I've been holding strong.

That's very good advice. I can guarantee, Kanthal, that if you're not vaping 36mg or even stronger, you're NOT getting more nicotine now than you were as a smoker -- your body can't absorb it nearly as well as it absorbed the nicotine from smoke, they absorb in very different ways. But the thing is, with vaping, you have a lot more control over the level, and can gradually lower it over time, so that you don't even miss it.

And even if you aren't INTENDING to go back to smoking.... oh, that's a very slippery slope -- I thought my own return to smoking would be a week or two -- it took a full month, and it was HARD! to put them back down again. I had to just force myself.

My guess is you wouldn't get more than a couple puffs in, then decide the taste was too disgusting to continue.

This is exactly what i found.I had no desire to even smoke another cigarette, but my wife still smokes, and one day she bought a brand different than what we bought when i smoked. She talked about how much better this new brand was,and kept bugging me to try it,the taste was so foul i almost threw up.I thought maybe it was just that brand,so when she got the brand we always bought,i tried 1 hit from one of those, again almost threw up,so i knew i was done. It's weird i vape alot of tobacco flavors, but cant stand the real thing anymore.

Just as a bit of trivia, to get a decent cigarette in the US now you MUST make it yourself, as manufactured ones are all FSC (fire safety) with carpet glue in the paper (try burning just the paper -- it may drive you out of the room). Amazingly, this is especially true for everyday smoking.

I haven't completely quit, and sometimes enjoy the first few drags of an analog, but recently have been putting it out after that. Going back further isn't at all tempting. The attraction is mostly regarding physical effects and is rapidly satisfied for a good while. Of course you may vary and should be cautious.

As to nicotine, I'd say vaping can result in a more prolonged nicotine level, cigs are more a sudden burst. I've felt nic-sick more off vapor than I have with analogs for a long time, but then I was cutting down. A study I saw showed only a few vapers can hit the nicotine level of most smokers.
