What is the tank made from? I'm giving serious thought to grabbing the last one, but no extra parts concerns me.
Hey there!
I have no idea what its made of. I dont think its PMMA but I might be wrong!
Im a bit confused as to how many Tark has available. @Marc411 said he has a couple of used available but not sure if these are the ones that are/were on the site or if there are 2 more around somewhere in addition to the one left. There were 2 when I ordered and that went down to one but now @Bricca has one on the way yet it still shows one available....who knows. All I can say is that this is a very, very fine device. As you knoew I have been accumulating a lot of tanks of late, hurricane, merkava, phenom, tile, gem, erlk, gs2 and the list goes on but this is right up there. I mean it is right up there for flavour (dripper like) and excellent vapor. Its not perfect. I still cant figure outr out to get the damn thing off the mod intact without leaving the base behind but to be honest, I really dont care. Its very nice indeed. I wish we could convince Tark to continue....

Tengu v2 arrived today. I ordered it last Saturday. When I ordered, the stock number went to 0 but the next day it showed 1 again, so who knows...Maybe he's putting up a few at a time. It came with a ss drip tip,a black delrin tip, a few sample juice flavors and does appear to be somewhat used. Maybe a refurb for its very clean but has a miniscule notch/ding on the base. The rest of it, including the deck look good. Although I haven't built it yet, I noticed that both drip tips fit pretty loosely on the chimney connector. Loose enough that they fall off if I invert the tank. Just wanted to ask if this is normal with this device?

@TheotherSteveS Hey man thanks for the advice! I had spoken to Tark and he's got a few leftover that he's willing to put on the website. I'm not a guy who does really crazy-low sub ohms but goes down to about max .2. I was a I've had this Silverplay rat that I've been quite comfortable with for the past 6 months and crank it up to 50 watts max at .25 or .3 ohms. I'm just worried that if I went through with this purchase it won't be able to handle such a resistance, especially at the price point. It's such a beauty though. I'm looking at the Tilehamos as well, and know this one can handle it, but am hesitant still until someone confirms that the Tengu can or can't handle it. I'm a stubborn mule. What can I say.

@Marc411 or @Bricaa or @TheotherSteveS Were you guys saying that the top fill for the tengu v2 was not too functional for the rta? Also if any of you besides the good man theothersteve can tell me if you believe it's possible to push this thing down to .25 ohms and up to possibly 40-50 watts, I'd very much appreciate it, for I've been having Tark waiting on me. Thank you!

Hey Musicman, I'm just cleaning/ building it now but I did notice a few delrin insulators: one on the positive post, another in the base, and one on the 510 pin. I have no idea if these are the peek ones and/or could handle the .25 builds but figured I'd mention it. I don't usually build that low in general except on a dripper but maybe someone who does will chime in as far as this Rta goes. Cheers!

Im running it at 30W with a 0.16 ohm Ti build in TP mode. TO BE HONEST, you can probably change the insulators for PTFE if you really want to. The top fill works well, its just a bit fiddly to open the cap and get it off. Not a dealbreaker!

You know, havoing said all that, you may very well be better off with the Tile. There is a new 'flavour' version which looks great! The V2 I have is fantastic!

@Marc411 @TheotherSteveS @roxynoodle I don't necessarily need to go down to .25 but, if I can hit around .35, I'd be super satisfied. Some people commented on it and said that they were able to build down to that with the airflow, I just wanted to hear it from someone else to get some validation, due to the fact that this is an RTA, something I'm not as familiar with. I was able to build down to .2 ohms on my Yaeliq RDA with delrin insulators with 2 mm of airflow on each side, using dual coils instead of single, so I was assuming it was possible.

But guys, is it true that I can really build a .5 ohm coil and turn down the airflow and get just as good a throat hit as I would building low? I mean, why I looked for more airflow and low builds was always due to the throat hit I was used to getting. But I also came from a Provari setup with a 2.0 boge carto tank years ago and was completely content with that as well. Times have been really a'changing, as have I with the times.

maybe change your outlook! With these atties you can get a magnificent vape but in a different way. Serious low ohm builds do need some substantial Af to support them, and to get down to the sub 0.3 ohm level, you really are looking at dual coils or twisted stuff etc. No need with RTAs like the tengu/hurricane/gem/tile/phenom/ etc etc. These things are about a varying balance between flavour (the major thing I think) and vapour. Throat hit is a parametr that is, to my mind, determioned by your juice configuration. The heat of the vape can contribute to that senssation, but that is eminently controllable with these kinds of devices IF you are willing to spend some time developing a build to give you the vape you want. I started on cartos and then protanks what seems an age ago. I got the first wave of atlantis 'sub-ohm' devices (and still use it!) thorugh subtank minis (which i also still use and which are to my mind still the most flavourful of this genre with the RBA decks) and I ended up with a collection of tanks like the tengu, erl, squape, hurricane, merkava, etc etc that I wouldnt trade for all the tea in china. So many different ways to vape. Spread your wings a bit maybe?!

best

steve

ps. I forgot the cast of drippers that now sit largely unused (except my ByLeo Apollo and 454 BB..awesome)...

Ok, so the kayfun M tanks fit? That makes me feel better. I've cracked two plastic tanks in 2 weeks even though its never happened to me before. NT changed the Band Camp recipe and I lost tank #1. Then a blueberry/vanilla pudding cracked the second one, which I also didn't expect.
just realised I got a spare tank with the merkava..same thing lol!!

I try to find what, for me, is the best build for each atty.

However, I've never vaped at 0.25 on anything so this is hard for me to answer.

On a single coil atty, 0.5 is probably the lowest I've gone? Even the Clapton I put in the Urba the other day is 0.71 ohm.

Throat hit is determined by coil height, amount of pg in the juice and amount of nicotine.

Agreed!

How is the Urba? I know you had issues with the 510 threading but happy now?

@TheotherSteveS and @roxynoodle thanks so much guys! You are being bundles of big help! I am actually vaping on a .6 ohm coil right now and closed down the airflow to practically 1 mm and it's really lovely. I can't stop researching all of these rtas that I'd like to try out. In your opinions, what would you say would give me the best bang for my buck, if I'd want a good one for ease of build with good spacing between the posts, availability of extras like tank sections, and of course flavor.

I've got the tengu v2 on my mind still, the Tilehamos v2 plus, the Merkava (taking quite the step there with only 3 mm of airflow at most), Vapor Giant Mini v 2.5, or the Hurricane V 1.2 when available in a week. You guys have been so very helpful. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and it feels like a good move here.

they all have restricted AF to some degree or other! They arent drippers and they arent sub-ohm tanks...just saying!

..amnd they arent plug-and-play most of the time. They can be a right PITA. For example, my Tengu just dumped a couple of mls of juice down the side of my dicodes cos I screwed up when filling...grrrrr...

thats quite alright. I know they all have their little quirks to them. I've been only using the silverplay rta which I don't think is quite the same, but is in a lot of similar aspects, and I am a bottom airflow lover. This is all I use. I'm using a sub ohm tank right now out of the convenience of the .6 ohm coil that was in the package that I never considered after looking at it once. I liked the aqua v2 at one point but the thing about those types is that I absolutely despise the idea of setting the wick carefully into the channels like I'm doing right now, and have read too many stories about people having bad times with it either having dry hits, or bad flavor somehow due to it.

The convenience and flavor of these makes me not care about some painful times and learning curve with them in between. I'd just like to find the one most suitable for my needs and easiest to work with if possible. ;)

I just read that you got a Merkava so I thought you could give me a run down on it compared to the tengu v2 and tilehamos if possible? If not I understand. I'm a pain when trying to figure out the details to my next buy

As I said, these things need a bit of patience. If you are irritated by wicking tghe Aqua, you arent going to be too enamoured with the others. I mean the Erlkoenigin ios one of the most flavourful and excellent atties around but boy does it need some care in building and wicking. Same with most of these. You know, we havent talked about things like the Taifuns or squapes.

It might be good for you to go to youtube and check out a few vids actually. In fact, have a look at qorax review of the GUS Estia...siungle/double or triple coil with good AF (I think)..this might be your motherlode!!

Petar K sent me a new 510 base so I'm happy now. Actually this thing has some major airflow!

I love the Aquas, but they don't have massive air. Its a flavor tank.

Honestly, musicman21, the Chinese tanks might suit you more. The Aromamizer has crazy air and is very easy to wick (no channels).
