I think I read in the provape forum that are still going to be offering the fluted style tubes along with the new style.

I wish they would just make one completely smooth.. top cap and bottom cap smooth as well. the "divots" in the caps have always bothered me for some reason... I don't mind the fluted style tube though.

I just think as the "premium" product they place themselves as the have to get ever design change spot on.

The past designs were fine - simple and understandable.

The new design makes it look like a cheap chinese product - which I completely agree with it is not.

I am not suggesting the product is not first class - I am just stating it does not do itself justice by presenting itself in such a way.

I for one was genuinly excited about a new Provari. Now all I want is the old one!

Yeah, I dont have a Provari and yes its a wonderful item, but the "looks" never made me crazy enough to get one. BTW, I dont own a VV unit. I do think the Provaris look awesome with the cool extensions and the flat top "hippo" add on. This new design , while different and not particularly more ugly, it makes the unit look like all the new VV that are coming out in all those colours and finishes, It makes the Provari look "cheap" instead of making it look like something well made or as it would last a lifetime. It almost looks as if they were going for more of a "female" friendly mod, ( im female) sort of more cool or hip and something women would feel more feminine carrying around. The Provari as it is , is a very masculine, frill less design, rugged and well finished. This one just looks more "hip" and "trendy"

I'm glad to read that the v2.5 will be sold alongside the v2.0 instead of replacing it as I hope to buy a Mini in the future and like the "old" style better. But, even if the v2.5 did replace the v2.0, no big deal. Plenty of great wraps out there to cover up the design if you don't like it. I've never been a big fan of "fake" carbon fiber decals, but I love the way my textured carbon fiber JWrap looks on my v1.0.

It looks like whatever the new process is does etch a lot deeper which is a plus. But everything else about it is .... ugly, even the Provari logo on it. It just doesnt even look legit.

In the past the simple design made it a premium product. Now it just looks like a cheap knock-off.

Who knows - maybe this design is harder to copy? Doubt it!

For me the performance quality and builder support makes it premium not because it looks like a screw driver or has circles in it. I don't get that it looks like a Chinese or cheap. I think someone hit it on the head when they said they were going for something that appealed to a more wider variety of users lets face it a lot of people don't want something that resembles a tool.

I personally no longer have any interest in anything Provari until they ACTUALLY make a change to their product. It's probably one of the few devices that has been out for as long as it has while not having any changes to it or price drops. At this point it's really getting to be expensive, antiquated technology. Changing the etchings on the housing does nothing for me.. they're kinda cool, but meh. Not worth the price of admission, imo.

Once they redesign it completely I'll think about putting it back on my "do want" list.

Provape is a great company, and I can say first hand that they do make a quality product. I don't think it looks cheap or chinese either, if anything that's the China brainwash starting to take effect with all the Provari look-a-likes hitting the market recently.
