Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere else on this board, and please fell free to direct me to the proper threads if it has.

I (like many of you here, I am certain) continue to find anti-vaping articles on the web from so-called "experts" who run away with all sorts of paranoid conjecture against vaping. One of the recurring themes that seems to come up often is the discussion about any possible adverse results from extended periods of usage of vapes. "They" seem to devote a lot of energy towards pointing out that there have been no long-term studies done on any side-effects.

It seems to me that since vapes have been around for a decade, there ought to be some compilation of experience, both positive and negative. And I will readily admit that part of my motivation in asking for this information is driven by the naysayers I run inot on the web that insist they "know better" without having any solid data or experience to back up their claims. I honestly believe that the tide of negative viewpoints held by the misinformed public can be turned around with honest and true testimony from those of you that have been doing this for extended periods of time with no adverse effects.

I confess that I am only now into my third week of vaping. But after finally being able to completely drop a 30 year PAD habit, I am totally in love with vaping. My motives in asking are many, but I confess that I am looking to reinforce my positive feelings about it. And not only this, but I am surprised at how some regular smokers respond with an almost self-righteous and defensive attitude about their habit: "vape produces formaldehyde", "vaping is worse than smoking", "second-hand vapor is just as dangerous as second-hand smoke", etc.

So I am now reaching out to any of you that have some real long-term experience with vaping. Do we have anyone here with close to a decade of vaping? How is your health? Have you grown any extra limbs as a result of vaping (JK)? Do any of you long-term users have endorsements from your doctors that show how your health has improved by switching from smoking to vaping?

Coming up on my two year anniversary, and I have noticed a couple of side effects of vaping...but all of them positive. I ran my first 5K this past summer, something I had always wanted to do, but couldn't suck enough air due to my smoking habit. My teeth are cleaner, ask my hygienist. Those are just two, but you get the idea.

I smoked a pack a day for 12 or so years of American Spirits which are believed to have more tobacco than most other cigarettes packed into each one which made them smoke longer and also equates to more tar. I started vaping over 4 years ago and am pretty die-hard as I chain-vape all day everyday and have since I started. I also use devices with set ups that deliver a high intensity of vapor and have just about the entire length of my vaping history (much more juice/vapor delivered than using a traditional cigarette shaped/sized device). The only negative side effect I have noticed which MAY be attributed to vaping might be difficulty falling asleep which is thought to be a result of the stimulating effects of nicotine and nothing more. Aside from some people potentially having sensitivities to PG I haven't heard of any other adverse effects.
Unfortunately one hardly extensive or conclusive study conducted by, I believe, the government, showed that vaping does actually have some minuscule traces of carcinogens linked with it and neglected to mention that the exact same carcinogens identified by the study are present in abundantly higher levels in drinking water which is deemed to be safe. Therefore, the limited data from that study could be misunderstood as a negative whereas its actually not the worst thing and certainly continues to make the dangers of vaping vastly insignificant when compared to smoking. That's just my take on it. I know more and more studies are being conducted. I have also been curious about this since my vaping intake likely far exceeds my history of smoking intake and I would like to know if there is any concrete evidence of real or potential risks involved especially with vaping at my prolonged level.
