I know that this topic belongs in the health section, and it was posted there but with no answers. So I apologies in advance and mean no disrespect. I have been vaping now for ten months and love it. But recently my throat, left ear has been hurting. My chest feels heavy. The only way I can explain how I feel is like when I use to smoke cigarettes and I stood up all night smoking a lot more then I usually do. The next day I would have my chest feel heavy and throat hurting. Now I have had my throat hurt before and someone told me to drink a lot of water. Because maybe I was dehydrated, so I did and felt better. But this time I have been drinking a lot and have tried different combination's of VG, PG and all VG. I was wondering if anyone has had these symptoms before. I had these symptoms before like I said when I smoked. And vaping I feel saved me from killing myself with cigarettes. I have been very happy vaping, but now I vape with pain because of these issues I mentioned. Any advice would be appreciated. I am a 40yr old male and a heavy vapor, probably 8 to 10ml aday. The only thing I can think of is that I always vape at 3.7v with a lr atty 1.7ohm. And about two weeks ago switched to 5v vaping with a 3.0 ohm atty. I found that the juice tasted realy good to me at 5v. Or do you think that I am vaping to much. I guess the answer I'm looking for is somebody else had this issue and it went away. So I can get back to the thing I love doing "VAPING".

Normally I would say this is a PG issue, but you say it also happens with VG. It could be you have a chest cold. Too much nic can do this too, and you don't say the levels you vape at. So its hard to say, and we are not doctors here. If it persists you should see a doctor, for sure. It could be something deeper than just vapor.

I would, however, suggest trying a VG-only juice with no flavoring. Some flavors will bother me, make me cough and give a chest ache. Flavor compounds are not all intended for inhalation. I make my juices DIY and there are a few flavors that will cause me real problems, whether it is that they have too much PG in them (I am VERY sensitive to PG) or the compounds themselves are causing problems. I personally would be removing ALL PG. 5V with 3 ohms shouldn't be too hot, but it might be, as could the 1.7ohms on 3.7V.

8 - 10 mL a day is a lot for most people, so if you are sensitive to PG or a particular flavor (you don't say what juice or flavor you are vaping), it might be you are just ingesting too much. I have during very stressful days vaped as much as 8 mL, and I do feel it later. If this is your day to day amount, then yes, you might try just cutting back. 10 mL of hot vapor can make for symptoms like this.

It would be helpful if you say exactly what the juices are you are vaping, vendor, flavors, PG/VG blend and nic levels. You can PM me if you like. My guess it is a combo of heat, amount of ingestion, and PG, but some flavors, particularly custard-like, cinnamon or clove are notorious for making problems. And nicotine itself can irritate too.

But again, we are not doctors, and it could well be that medical help is required. If this gets worse or does not improve with step-wise removal of the above factors, seek medical attention.
