Who said I don't love Johnny Cash? I remember sitting at the dining room table with my grandfather at 6am (parents were on vacation in hawaii) eating breakfast before school listening to Johnny Cash....although I do love the Ugly Kid Joe version of Cats in the Cradle better....

Not until sometime in October. We're leaving Oregon around the 21st of August and will work our way back. We'll be stopping by my favorite lounge on the way back so depending on how crazy I go we just might have to stay parked on the side of the road until payday roles around so we can have gas money for the return trip...LOL

Good plan Norry. Its been up to 101 degrees on the porch - in the shade here. No rain, everything is dried up and just not a good time to be in Texas.
I think our friends in Tucson would feel right at home here.

That's worse than here! Summer is here and the hottest it ever gets is around 90 during the days; most days it's in the high 80s.
104 over here..14 days in a row and 33 days so far, and it is mid July ...Good Grief! Wait till August... Ugh!
SC - I can't imagine temps being that high! Will it really get hotter in August or do the temps stay about the same as now? Do the nights cool off?
VGF, Sometimes they stay around the same...but can reach 107..110...Worst I can remember was 1980 12 Straight days at or over 112 ...and T is Right! It was 84 when I got up this morning....and we have had so little rain, makes it really bad. Waiting for Fall over here

Hmmmm...Almost feel guilty...Here at Whidbey Island the high today was 64 but the sun was shining and it felt much warmer. Running around in T-shirt & capris. I feel for all my friends experiencing the extreme heat...been there done that. Now when it gets to hot we head North and when it starts getting cold we load up and head South....
SC and TT - Although our days aren't as hot as yours, nights don't cool off much. The coolest time is around 6:00 or 6:30 am (around 77 or 78). By 9:00 this morning, it was already 84.
Almost! Only Almost!! and well you should while your fellow Texacans are suffering down here!

Sc...we've had almost 100 degree temps here all week...I was thrilled to see 67 at 7am this morning...
That would be close to 27 degrees in Fahrenheit. Pretty cold, but that's what winter is all about isn't it?

This morning we had to tip out the iceblock that was in Brosnan's water bowl! And force him to go outside for a drink and a wee. He's so hard done by - I did point out to him last night that 90% of the dogs in this town were sleeping OUTSIDE and he has 3 couches and 2 beds, so he should stop looking so miserable when we send him outside for 5 minutes... (He's a spoilt dawg, that one)
