Seriously, Our town is like an old town square. It is easy to tell that once upon a time there was lots of activity there. The few shops that are actually open are very old and have maintained their historic features which is very cool. There is an old RR Station there that is now a museum. DH has an uncle that retired from the RR and he really enjoys that place.

You have a town square!! You are big city too!! LOL We don't even have a square.... we have an old bank on one side and a closed lumber place on the other and junk store..... Oh and a Post office!! lol

Now, we do have a Post Office. The town square is all closed down except for an antique (junk) shop and some kind of Arts place.

I was sitting here reading this site and half watching television when suddenly I smelled this horrible smell.

I thought to myself "my gosh, where dod that odor come from?"

Then I looked and my dog Chance is laying under my swivel chair and he farted.

A silent one.

And you know what they smell like.

My wife probably would have lectured him.

There is a huge thing called a Standpipe that towers over the town. They have a Standpipe festival every year. I still don't even know what the heck that thing is lol I might have to go to the festival one year just to find out

I bought my sister a book on the history of this town when she first moved here. I told her to read it and tell me what the hell that huge Standpipe is. That was about 4 years ago lol

TT! You sound as bad as DH! He is always trying to blame stuff on our parrots. Thing is, parrots don't have the same kind of GI tract that we do

Lucky for them, they have no sense of smell either lol

LMAO! It is/was for water storage... ;)

SC

Hmmm... pretty sure that would be was used for storage. They give tours during that festival but I doubt seriously that I would make the climb :)

Ha, ha! You see how interested I am in this town! My only interest is getting the heck back out of here :)

Sadly, DH is much like you and tries to tell me that he is too old to move again. I think that he is just a few years younger than you are

I love it in the middle of July when they have the Old Timers Festival here.

Its usually about 110 degrees then and 95% humidity. I've told you before that they lose two or three old times during that festival.

That's why I never go to it.

They do put on a show though, carnival rides and eleven dollar hamburgers for the kids and a bunch of people up on stage singing that you wish would get the hell off the stage and quit that dang singing.
