Hi guys,
So i got these like 16 bottles of TFA Essence that i bought from local reseller. The seller said it's re-packaged and today i received the stuff, sealed.

But i believe it's always good to do checking before, so can i ask anyone here a favor?

Can you take a picture of these flavor below, if you have it/them:

1.bubblegum
2.cappucino
3.cheese cake
4.expresso
5.honeydew
6.irish cream
7.kiwi
8.lychee*
9.milk
10.orange mandarin
11.peach
12.peanut butter
13.mango ripe
14.strawberry ripe
15.blueberry
16.vanilla

I don't want to check the authenticity by giving it a taste since it means that i will be breaking the seals and can not return them.

Thank you in advance :)

Your seller most likely buys the TFA flavorings in much larger sizes, and then rebottles and labels them in smaller sizes to resell. No one else will have bottles of them that look like yours...unless they also bought them from your seller.

I have many TFA flavorings, that came from 4 different company's websites. ALL of them came in 4 different types of bottles or vials, and with 4 different label types. Each seller has their own type they use. That doesn't mean that they aren't TFA like they're supposed to be though.

If your seller has a good business reputation, that would lead me to believe that his/her products were authentic.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
The rebottle and re-label is something i completely understand. Sorry if i caused any confusion but i wanted to compare the color of the liquid (inside the bottle) to glance comparing them with mine (my bottles is just plain plastic transparent bottle).
The seller here is new and doesn't have much reputation to tell, thus i hesitate.
Anyway, thank you

I'm afraid that wouldn't really work either, mamamiaw: different cameras with different settings capturing images in different lighting with different backgrounds, displayed on computers with different settings means no one will be seeing the exact same colors, and only fairly dramatic differences (clear vs very dark, say) would be useful.

I noticed #16 you called Vanilla. TFA has a bunch of different vanilla flavours. Like French Vanilla, Vanilla Cupcake, etc. At a glance a couple of the others seemed to have incomplete names too.

Were you abbreviating the names? If not I guess the seller could have been changing the names, which seems like it would be a sign of dodginess.

For what you are asking, the different TFA vanillas are different colours anyway.

As was already mentioned many re-sellers buy in bulk and repackage it. I don't think that you need to worry about it's authenticity as long as you bought it from a reputable re-seller. TFA is so common and cheap that I doubt it would be worth the effort for a re-seller to try to counterfeit it. There is such a high profit margin because these flavors are so cheap in bulk that I would think most re-sellers would think twice about watering it down at the risk of ruining there reputations just to save a few pennies. This would be especially true if your re-seller is new and trying to make his business a success, they would want to prove there reputation on top shelf service and supplies.

So just go to work mixing it up and don't worry about it.

Exactly this, flavors are by far too cheap to bother with counterfeiting. I would think if they were subbing something they would just sell it under whatever name it was to begin with. Of all the issues I've read on this forum, you may be the first with this concern. I get it, but not sure this would be on my mind unless I was dissatisfied with the flavors themselves.

I've seen this before with TFA. May be old stock. Is one older then the other? I've seen them discolor over time but they do not seem to loose there quality. Bullcity is about as reputable as they get, if it concerns you drop them an email with that picture. I'm sure they will replace it.

I've also seen this with cross contamination from using the same syringe and not cleaning the syringe properly between flavors. Or drawing flavor with the same syringe used to draw Nicotine. Vanilla is very sensitive to even the slightest cross contamination. Not saying this is your fault, this could have happened during the re-sellers re-bottling process. No ones perfect:)

My French Vanilla (also from BCV) is even darker than yours.

I don't think authenticity, or whether something's watered down, can be strictly tied to color. Colors change over time. My TFA Bavarian Cream was almost clear when it arrived 6 months ago, and now it's a shade darker than what's in your photo.

I think it would be relatively easy to tell (for a reasonably experienced DIYer) if a flavoring were watered down. Performance would be off a detectable amount. In other words, I wouldn't worry about it until something more than color seems off.
