I'm pleasantly surprised I'm still vaping what's left in my tank of the 6%! I think maybe just 1% more. This is exciting, I've been searching for good cc for a while

Isn't that is the Cool thing about DIY and having a Small army of 15ml Bottles of Flavorings? That you can play Master Chef on a Sunday afternoon.

It is quite fun! I've never had such an enjoyable hobby. Such instant gratification, unlike quilting, which I also do.

DIY is Fun.

I'm enjoying a New Van-B-Waff (Vanilla Bean Ice Cream / Waffle) right now from some flavorings I got on Friday from OSDIY.

I've never heard/read about anyone making the regular TFA Cotton Candy as a standalone flavor, but...that doesn't mean it can't be done! However, TFA's info. on it, that's posted on WL website, says this:

"Cotton Candy Flavor
water soluble
This is made from ethyl maltol, diluted to 10% in PG.
It is not a strong flavor, since ethyl maltol won't dissolve in PG at higher concentrations. It is used as a mild sweetener and smoother for harsh flavors. Our Sweetener is sweeter than the Cotton Candy."

You might want to try TFA Circus Cotton Candy. Here's what TFA says about it, that's posted on Wizard Labs website for it:

"Cotton Candy (Circus) Flavor
water soluble
This is a different style of cotton candy that is more similar to "Blue" Cotton Candy. This is not a "strong" flavor. It is made with ingredients that are crystals/powders, and if we try to make it much stronger then these crystals will start to "precipitate" out."

ETA: Even the ingredients shown for the 2 are different. The TFA Cotton Candy shows: Ethyl Maltol Crystals, Propylene Glycol as the ingredients. But, the Circus Cotton Candy shows: Artificial Flavors, Propylene Glycol as the ingredients.

I dunno? I've Never made a Stand Alone CC.

Maybe go with a 6% TFA CC and a 1/2 Eye Dropper of Water. Let it Steep for a Couple of Days. And then just add Drops of TFA Sweeter until it is Sweet enough.

A Huge PLUS of using TFA Sweetener is there is No Steeping Needed. Just Add, Shake n' vape.

BTW - Blue Cotton Candy is probably easier to make as a Stand Alone. Regular CC doesn't have all that much Flavor.

Have you thought about doing the 100 DT (drop test)? Each drop of whatever your putting into the bottle represents 1%. One of my favorites is OSDIY Pink Lemonade and take this for instance. Starting off I knew I wanted an 80/20 VG/PG ratio so I knew I needed 80 drops of VG and 20 drops of PG so my flavoring I know is PG, my nic is 100mg of 100% VG and I vape at 4mg (4%). I start off with the nic and add 4 drops (4%). I started out at 10 drops (10%) of PL flavoring and put 76 drops (76%) of VG, then I put 10 drops (10%) of PG. that is your 100 drops totaling 100%. Then I shake and vape. Just put 3 or 4 drops on each coil and try it. If you think it needs more flavoring, add however many drops you think you need. Just remember you can always add more but you can't take any away so add a drop or 2 then try it again. Keep notes with how many drops you used and what they were. If you start off with 10 drops of say PL and you add 2 drops you will need to minus 2 drops of your PG to keep you at the 100 drops (100%). Once you get it to what you think you want, use the notes you take and make that a recipe card. Use a DIY juice calculator and add the percentages in there and let it tell you how many ml you need to add. Make a small 10ml bottle at first and vape on it for a day or 2. Let friends try it and give you feedback. If you like what you have just make a bigger bottle and use the recipe card. I put all my recipe into the calculator I use. Here is a link to the calculator.

http://..................../create

Here you can create your recipe and save it to a recipe list like this. Hope you can make sense of all that and put it to use. One good thing about the 100 DT is whatever your small 100 DT taste like you will be able to recreate the recipe every time. Good luck! Let us know how you do and maybe share a recipe or 2. I think any of us here would also do the same. If you need any help remember we are here to help you cause we have been in your position before getting help from the vets on this forum.

I'm not a big fan of the 100 Drop Method. But I know some who use it and like it.

And if something works, that's all that Matters.

Sorry, I quoted the wrong comment. I meant to quote the OP. To each his own. If it works and keeps you off analogs that's all that matters.

This is the 4th cotton candy I'll try in my quest to find the perfect CC. I couldn't find the recommended usage on the other site. I'm wondering if you've used this and at what percentage? Also, did you like it? Thanks for any info you can provide!

I'm a CCFC.
My guess: Cotton Candy Fan Clubber? Amirite?
BTW - I Wouldn't be surprised if someone Fat Fingered that recipe when they Typed it. And the EM was supposed to be 3% and Not 30%
It does seem excessive, but the high EM was surely intentional. Here's the old thread where members were trying to recreate both "Malty" and "Malty Toffee" from Backwoods Brews; it even has posts from the commercial owner. The primary flavor for these came from the EM, which inspired the "Malty" tag, rather than any sort of "malt" as might be expected. Apparently, they had LOTS of fans.

Maybe that Chemical Taste I get is the same "Malty" Taste that these people are Looking for?

As another Member said, If it Keeps you Off Cigarettes that's All that Matters. Unfortunately, If I used 30% EM in my Mixes when I started, I would have gone Back to Cigarettes.

BTW - That was a Cool Thread. Nice to see some of the Old Crowd again.

I've become a fan of the 100 drop method for new juice flavors. It produces a 5ml sample that fills a Kayfun tank. If I like it, I'm good. If not, then I try again.

The 100 drop method for me is a no frills test method with little waste. If I like it then the recipe becomes a 50ml bottle mix. 100 drops = 5ml, which will fill most tanks.

I have 3 10ml bottles sitting on the counter right now that I mixed up in 5ml samples and tried. 2 of the 3 are keepers and one might need more experimentation before getting to the big bottle.

For me, using unflavored nic as the base made me a believer. I just measure up an amount of unflavored nic mix in a syringe close to 5ml and squirt it into a 10ml bottle, accounting for head space for the flavorings and then add the flavors and shake. Wait a day or two and try it.

I'm with you on the trouble of trying to weigh out small amounts. If I get out the scales, I'm making 50ml bottles!
