TFA Double RY4

I'm still new to the DIY thing. I wanted to try some more tobacco flavors, so I grabbed a bottle of it. Is it supposed to taste like a pecan soaked in gasoline??? Lol! I always liked RY4's. The creamyness of vanillas and caramels are a nice accent to most tobaccos. This stuff is pretty well liked from the reviews I've seen, but it tastes like... well like juice. Did I get a bad bottle or is that just how it tastes?

What % did you mix it at?I haven't tried it as a single flavor,but have used it in several different mixes from 6-10% and never had any bad taste from it.

b.m hit it on the head, Many tobbaco flavors do well in mixes, and to high of a percentage of flavor either mutes taste or tastes like you described.

I tried it at 5, 10 and 15%. Let it steep up to 2 weeks, trying a few drops in a dripper every couple of days. The 5% batch I split up and tried adding caramel and vanilla to it. Still can't get rid of the gasoline soaked nut flavor. Tried the cap-off steep. That usually works for chemical tastes, but no luck. Still get a pecan soaked in 93 Octane, with a kinda wet grass aftertaste. I wonder if it's just the tobacco flavor in it I don't like?

Another thing I thought was with most of my tobacco flavors is a long, long steep, some at least a month before they taste right.

I have never been able to get rid of the chemical taste in the Double RY4 regardless of the % and/or steeping time.

I was afraid of that. I've got a few tobaccos and vanillas and some caramel. Looks like I'm gonna DIY a DIY RY4.

I make my own RY4 using Hangsen Red (6%) FA caramel (2%) and TFA vanilla swirl (1%)

Thanks. I haven't tried Hangsen yet but I hear good things. I have a few FAs and they are pretty good. Best I've come up with yet is a mix of Royal and 7 Leaves Ultimate with bourbon. It's nice.

Kinda thinking this is a great RY4 when mix 15%.
I never let my juices steep for longer it takes to fill my tank, but this might benefit from a weeks worth of steeping.
Wouldn't say this is a tobacco flavour (imo none of RY4s is).

Here's another good thread. Tobacco Absolute - A Flavor All By Itself. | E-Cigarette Forum The Rustica is good all by itself but also mixes very well with other tobacco flavors. My favorite (so far) is 2% Rustica (2% of a 10% mix) and 6% Hangsen Virginia.

If you read through the tread you will understand what I mean by 2% of a 10% mix.

Try the Scutch recipe here on this forum for the DblRY4. Excellent! Also there is a recipe for a Deadly Sin clone floating around. Awesome recipe! Both of those were so good after my 10ml tester bottles I made 2 60ml bottles of each. If you need that Deadly Sin clone hit me up. I don't feel like posting it because it's not my recipe and I have no clue who's recipe it is. I like to give credit where credit is due when its someone else's recipe.

It could be a bad batch. My last bottle wasn't up to snuff and there was a thread on it here at the time because several others were complaining as well. I think that happens more than we might think.

That's a shame about your ry4 double. Thats the only flavor I purchase in 4oz bottles cause I go through it. I have several recipes I use with it and my coworkers buy it from me so gotta keep a lot on hand.

You may want to try it at a very low percent. I know from butterscotch tasted really bad at 10-15%. The only percentage it tasted good was at 1% after 2 weeks steep. Taste is subjective. Hope this helps you out.

Its a great flavor when used in conjunction with other flavors. try adding %1 caramel original from tpa. And %1 of a vanilla concentrate from DIY eJuice - Concentrated Flavoring for DIY I use the RY4 double at %8. And add %3 ry4 concentrate. Its a great vape. ;-)

I mixed up another batch this weekend. Toned it down to 2.5ish% and added some caramel and vanilla. Still steeping, but shows promise.
